FOLLOWING RUMOURS OF THE imminent departure of Phil Brown from Hull City, William Hill have stopped taking bets for him to go, and installed Portsmouth’s Paul Hart as odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave his club. ‘ With rumours circulating that Phil Brown is on the verge of leaving Hull City, we have taken him out of our market for the next Premiership manager to leave his club in which he was 7/4 joint favourite with Paul Hart. We saw a string of bets for Brown to go, with punters asking to stake up to £500 a time. At that point we decided to close the book. The possible departure of Brown could trigger a wave of managerial moves, but although Paul Hart is an obvious favourite to be next to go, given his side’s position at the bottom of the table, the bizarre financial and ownership situation at the club could mean that there is noone really in a position to remove him at the moment’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe. Hills have also now stopped taking bets on whether Phil Brown will still be at Hull on the final day of the season.
Hills currently make Hull 2/5 favourites to be relegated (7/4 to stay up), and 11/8 favourites to finish bottom of the table.

WITH MIKE ASHLEY SET TO SELL naming rights to Newcastle’s St James’ Park, bookmakers William Hill have opened a book on whether those rights will actually be sold, and what the ground will be known as. Hills believe it is unlikely that a sponsor will come forward and offer 4/7 that the ground name has NOT changed at all by the first day of next season, and 5/4 that it HAS gained a sponsor’s appendage by then. ‘It is one thing putting the naming rights up for grabs, another getting the right deal – and Mr Ashley could quote conceivably have changed his mind and sold the club by then’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

WILL FABIO BE TAKING THE MICHAEL?
