Lancashire Man’s £150,000 South American World Cup Double Gamble

LANCASHIRE MAN’S £150,000 SOUTH AMERICAN WORLD CUP DOUBLE GAMBLE
A William Hill client, from Lytham St Annes in Lancashire is delighted that both Brazil and Argentina have reached the Quarter Finals of the World Cup – giving him two chances of landing a £150,000 gamble.
The anonymous gambler, who placed his bet via a letter to the bookie, has staked an £8824 double on Brazil winning the World Cup this year AND in 2014 – at odds of 16/1, which will win him £150,008 if it comes off.
The same punter has also staked a £5173 double on Argentina to win this year – going on to Brazil to win in 2014 at odds of 28/1, also set to produce a return of £150,017.
‘There is little doubt that our client is convinced that Brazil are certainities to win the World Cup when it is held in their country in 2014, and believes that either they or Argentina can set up a huge payout by winning in South Africa – he is obviously a most patient punter, too!’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
The World Cup is set to break all betting records by becoming the first event ever to produce a betting turnover in excess of £1billion. ‘England’s defeat means that patriotic punters now have to switch their allegiance to another country – and the easiest way to do that is by betting on them.’ added Sharpe.

Fabio Backed To Remain England Boss – Carlos For Cottage?

FABIO BACKED TO STAY AS BOSS
WILLIAM HILL have shortened their odds that Fabio Capello will still be England manager when they play their August friendly against Hungary, from 4/7 to 1/2, and have lengthened the odds that he is gone by then from 5/4 to 6/4. ‘There seems to be a sudden flurry of support for Fabio to survive – but we do offer 11/10 that he has gone before the end of the year’ said Hill’s spookesman Graham Sharpe.
With Roy Hodgson seemingly now set to take over at Liverpool, William Hill have made Harry Redknapp 13/8 favourite to be the next England manager. ‘Many thought the England job was there for Hodgson’s taking but maybe he thought it would be a poisoned chalice to take on after the great job he has done at Fulham’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.’Mind you, if Capello hangs on for a couple of seasons, Hodgson could still be in the right place at the right time!’

You Bet: Ashley Cole Is The Most Hated Man In Britain

Bookies William Hill have been inundated with requests from punters looking to place novelty bets on England’s fallen idols. Perhaps the biggest figure of fun is Ashley Cole who is quoted as 1/3 to be the most hated man in Britain. Blundering keeper Rob Green does not escape the jibes with Hills quoting him as 1000/1 to be the spokesman for BP’s spill, given his previous form.

“First he laughs at £55,000 a week, then he cheats on a national treasure and now he texts that he hates England and English people. There can be little doubt that Ashley Cole is trying his best to scoop the award of most hated man in the country and the sooner he emigrates the better!” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
