Podolski Odds On To Become Gunner

PODOLSKI ODDS-ON TO BECOME A GUNNER

William Hill are offering odds of 4/7 that Cologne and Germany striker Lukas Podolski will have joined Arsenal by day one of the next Premier League season – and 5/4 that he does not. But if he does arrive there he may find that Robin Van Persie has departed – after the in-form striker was backed from Even money to 5/6 with Hills to have left the club by the start of the next campaign, and lengthened from 8/11 to Evens still to be there. Boss Arsene Wenger is 2/5 still to be in charge on day one, 7/4 not to.
Hills are also betting on how many goals RVP will chalk up in the Prem this season – and make him 11/4 to set a new record of 35 or more. He is 14/1 to end up with 25; 6/1 26/27; 3/1 28/29; 3/1 30/31; 11/4 32/33; 5/2 34.

**Kenny Dalglish played down rumours of Luis Suarez joining PSG, and Hills make the player 1/5 still to be at Anfield next season, but 10/3 to depart before then.

YOU BET NO MORE PREM BOSSES WILL GO THIS SEASON…

William Hill offer 13/8 that no more Premier League managers will leave their clubs before the end of the season, but Steve Kean is 9/2 to be the next to do so this campaign while Hills also offer 5/1 Coyle; Martinez; 6 McLeish; 16 Redknapp. Others on request.

JOSE IN DEMAND? YOU BET HE IS…….

WITH JOSE MOURINHO strongly fancied for a return to Chelsea, William Hill were anticipating taking plenty of bets for him to succeed AVB as permanent boss at Stamford Bridge – so when a Kent punter asked for a £1000 bet on him they were surprised that it was for him to take over at Spurs! ‘Mourinho is being backed to be the next boss at Chelsea, Spurs, Manchester United and England – even a man of his ability is unlikely to be able to complete that set’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.’The available Rafa Benitez and Mourinho are the best fancied Chelsea contenders so far.’
Meanwhile, another ‘next boss’ punter staked £3000 on Harry Redknapp becoming the next England manager. ‘Many punters regard the England job as a fait accompli, but if Spurs continue to concede goals at their current rate it may not be!’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

SPL FAVOURITES TO BE FIRST WITH GOAL-LINE TECHNOLOGY…..

WITH SPECULATION growing that FIFA are set to endorse the introduction of goal-line technology, William Hill have opened a book on which major European league will get to introduce it first and have made the SPL 13/8 favourites. ‘This seems to be a story which has been around forever without actually happening, maybe at last it is imminent. We think the SPL could be well placed to be considered for the honour of staging the first League game to boast goal-line technology.’ Said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Scottish Premier League 13/8
English Premier League 11/4

ARSENAL 20/1 FOR MIRACLE ESCAPE

William Hill make Arsenal 20/1 to manage to overcome the four goal deficit against AC Milan to make it through to the next round of the Champions League when they face AC Milan on Tuesday night. Arsenal are 23/20 to win the game in 90m, 12/5 to draw, with AC 23/10. Robin Van Persie is 25/1 to score a 90m hat trick. A 4-0 90m win for the Gunners is 40/1, with a 5-0 triumph 125/1.

WLLIAM HILL offer 8/13 that Evra and Suarez will NOT shake hands pre-match at this weekend’s Manchester United v Liverpool Premier League match. ‘Assuming the FA does not decide to ban the pre-match handshake, we think the two will fail to sake hands’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

NOW 11/1 NEITHER TERRY OR CAPELLO TO GO TO EUROS

William Hill offer 7/4 that John Terry will fail to be included in England’s final Euro 2012 squad as the controversy over losing the captaincy continues to dog him and Fabio Capello. And Hills have also cut their odds about Capello stepping down from his role before Euro 2012 from 9/2 to 7/2 – offering 1/6 that he will still be in charge when the tournament kicks off.
‘There is plenty of punting support about for Capello and Terry to miss out on the Euros – and we offer 11/1 that NEITHER of them will go’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

You Bet Jags Or Lescott Will Start Alongside Terry But Capello To Ring Changes

A largely experimental England side performed well for Fabio Capello, but William Hill think that the changes will be rung when the side steps out for their opener at the European Championships. Hills offer 2/1 that just three of the starting XI vs Sweden start England’s first game in Poland and the Ukraine, with four the same price.

The defence was well marshalled by John Terry and Gary Cahill and Hills offer 13/2 that this pairing start England’s first Euros game although the most likely seems to be John Terry with either Lescott or Jagielka (both 9/4). It would appear that the seemingly unbreakable partnership of Terry and Ferdinand has reached its end, with Hills making them 10/1 to line up side by side for England’s first Euros match.

“Cahill and Terry played well together but we think that Jagielka or Lescott may just get the nod ahead of Cahill to line up next to the captain,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

England have secured two wins in two home friendlies and are due to play Holland at the start of next year and Hills make England slight favourites at 13/10 to win the match, with Holland13/8 and the draw 11/10.
