You Bet Rvp Is On His Way…what Now For Southgate?

Robin van Persie has been the subject of reported bids from Manchesters United and City as well as Juventus and William Hill are betting on where the Dutch striker will be playing on the first day of next season. He is 11/10 to join moneybags Manchester City, 11/4 to be at Manchester United and 10/3 to still be at Arsenal. Juventus round off the top four at 4/1 with the rest of his potential suitors available at 16/1 or more.

Gareth Southgate has left his role as the FA’s Head of Elite Development and William Hill are now betting on where he will pop up next. He is 7/4 for his next managerial rolw to be in the Championship and 9/4 for it to be in League One.

“It was always a bizarre appointment for the FA to select Gareth Southgate and he may well have been a little out of his depth,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “He may well go back to management now and the Championship looks the most likely destination.”

Emile Heskey is reportedly in talks with Ipswich to sign as a free agent and the former England striker is 66/1 to be the Championship’s leading scorer in the 2012/13 season.
