Pompey Return For Fa Cup Winners?
Portsmouth are manager-less following Steve Cotterills departure to Forest and William Hill make current Pompey first team coach, Stuart Gray, the 7/2 favourite to take the top job. Academy manager, Andy Awford is 5/1 with players from the golden generation, Sol Campbell and David James offered at 12/1 and 16/1 respectively.
With Portsmouth still struggling financially, the appointment may well come from within the club rather than bringing in an outsider, although players such as Campbell and James hold the club dear to their hearts following their FA Cup win and may well be tempted to take their first steps into football management at Fratton Park, said Hills spokesman Joe Crilly.
Cotterill has taken the helm at the City Ground and Hills make Forest 100/1 to win the league under the popular former Portsmouth man and 20/1 offered for promotion. Relegation may well be more likely at 11/2.
