Birmingham Connection Vying For Number 1 Spot…danish Manager 9/1 For Title To Save His Bacon

Roy Hodgson has called Birmingham’s goalkeeping coach, Dave Watson, onto his coaching staff, sparking rumours that three former or current Birmingham keepers could be called up to the Euros squad. Former keeper Joe Hart is 1/500 to be in the squad, with another ex-Birmingham keeper, Ben Foster, offered at 1/2 to go the Euros. Current England U21 goalkeeper, Jack Butland, currently working under Watson at Birmingham, is 4/1 to make it onto the plane to Poland and the Ukraine.

“Dave Watson has overseen the developments of a number of good goalkeepers and it can only be a good thing that a number of the contenders for the goalkeeper’s jersey have previous experience of him,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Wolves have announced Stale Stolbakken as their new manager and William Hill make him 9/1 to win the League in his first season and 11/4 to get Wolves back into the Premier League via any means necessary. Wolves are 12/1 to be relegated next season.

Amidst reports that Roy Hodgson has already spoken to Steven Gerrard, William Hill have slashed his price of being England captain against France at the Euros from 13/8 to 8/11. Former favourite, Scott Parker has gone from 6/5 to 2/1, while goalkeeper Joe Hart is the 13/2 third favourite.
