William Hill have doubled their odds for the World Cup to produce a record tally of 172 or more goals from 12/1 to 25/1. ‘Even though Uruguay hit three there is little sign of the matches in general producing a flood of goals any time soon’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.’We believe the likely tally will be around 146, although pessimists can take 12/1 for 115 or less.’
