Carling Cup Specials…when Will Carroll Score?
Manchester City face Liverpool in the Carling Cup with a one goal deficit and William Hill make them 2/1 to qualify for the final, Liverpool are 2/5 and in the driving seat. The only goal at the Etihad was a penalty scored by Steven Gerrard and Hills offer 3/1 that a penalty is awarded during the match. Manchester City are 7/1 to win after extra time while Liverpool are 14/1. After winning their match against Spurs in added time on Sunday, Hills offer 16/1 that an injury time goal settles the tie.
The previous match between these two was hardly a classic and both sides will want to avoid any early mistakes, said Hills spokesman Joe Crilly. It is quite possible that this one could go down to the wire.
Andy Carroll and Edin Dzeko are struggling for goals at the moment and William Hill are offering 12/5 that either one of the misfiring strikers nets the first goal, while 6/1 is available for them both to find the net at anytime during the match. Andy Carroll has scored just the one goal since Luis Suarez started his ban and William Hill offer 11/8 that he fails to score in the remaining three matches of Suarezs absence. He is 5/4 to score one, 7/2 two, 8/1 three and 10/1 four or more.
