England 8/1 For Euros…7/4 For Goal Line Technology In Brazil

England finished top of Group D and William Hill have cut their odds of winning the tournament from 12/1 to 8/1 – the shortest price that they have been to win the Euros.

Wayne Rooney scored the only goal of the game and William Hill are offering 5/1 that he manages to overtake the 115 caps that David Beckham won to become the most capped outfield player. He is 10/1 to be the top tournament goalscorer.

Steven Gerrard won man of the match and set up his fourth goal of the tournament and William Hill make him 1/2 to make the UEFA team of the tournament (6/4 he does not).

There was controversy as the Ukraine were denied an almost certain goal by the officials and William Hill are offering 7/4 that goal-line technology has been introduced to international football by the time that the Brazil World Cup kicks off (2/5 it has not).

“After another goal line controversy has been seen on the big stage that has seen the hosts booted out of the tournament, FIFA will surely have to sit up and take note,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
