England Cut For World Cup Glory Following Favourable Qualifying Draw
It was close but England managed to avoid many of the big guns and found themselves in a relatively easy group for the World Cup 2014 qualifiers and William Hill have cut their odds from 16/1 to 14/1 to win the competition outright. They are also 1/3 favourites to qualify from their group, for which Montenegro are the 11/2 second favourites.
England dodged a bullet in the shape of France by the skin of their teeth and they have been cut ever so slightly to lift the trophy in Rio, said Hills spokesman Joe Crilly.
Scotland and Wales were drawn together in Group A of the World Cup 2014 qualifiers and William Hill make the pair 7/1 and 100/1 to win their groups respectively. Wales are 50/1 to qualify for the competition and Scotland are 11/4 to do so.
