Cameron speech prompts yes bets as:
SCOTS BETTING ON INDEPENDENCE YES VOTE
WILLIAM HILL have cut their odds from 3/1 to 5/2 that the Scots will vote in favour of independence when they get the opportunity to do so in a Referendum. And Hills offer 4/11 that the Referendum will take place in 2014 and 7/1 that the country will become independent by 2020.
Although the betting suggests an ultimate no to independence at any Referendum, the money we have taken is almost all for a yes vote- and every bet struck since David Cameron spoke on the issue has been for yes. said Hills spokesman Graham Sharpe.
HILLS OFFER 2/5 THAT ONLY THOSE AGED 18 OR OVER WILL BE PERMITTED TO VOTE IN THE REFERENDUM, 7/4 THAT THE AGE LIMIT WILL BE LOWERED FROM THAT.
WILLIAM HILL ..
WHEN WILL SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE REFERENDUM TAKE PLACE?….4/11 2014; 11/4 2012/2013; 7/1 2015 OR LATER
WILL THE REFERENDUM PRODUCE A VOTE IN FAVOUR OF INDEPENDENCE? 5/2 YES; 2/7 NO
WILL UNDER 18s BE PERMITTED TO VOTE IN REFERENDUM? 2/5 NO 7/4 YES
WILL SCOTLAND ACHIEVE INDEPENDENCE BY 2020? 7/1 YES; 1/16 NO

Bookmakers William Hill were burned by an Ayrshire punter who made a profit of £39,000 by backing Scotland to defeat Cyprus to the tune of £30,000. The gutsy punter walked into an Ayrshire shop and placed the bet at odds of 13/10 and in doing so, placed the biggest ever bet that Hills have taken on Scotland to win a match.
“When we heard about the bet, we were very surprised as this unknown Scottish punter was willing to risk such a large stake on a nothing friendly, but Craig Levein’s men have done the job and in the process, more than doubled this punter’s cash,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

WITH DAVID BECKHAMS LA GALAXY contract due to expire by the end of the year, William Hill have opened a book on where he will play/coach next and make him 10/11 to sign for an English-based club, and 5/1 to stay in the States. Brand Beckham probably has another couple of years in it, so it would be no surprise to see him return to the Premier League although the family may decide they prefer the LAclimate and opt to remain there said Hills spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Read moreScotland suffered last minute heartbreak against Czech Republic at Hampden Park on Saturday and all eyes will turn to the referee against Lithuania this week. Hills are offering 10/3 that there is a penalty awarded in the match (1/5 there is not one awarded). Scotland are 50/1 to qualify for Euro 2012 but the odds indicate that there is no reason why they should not win, offered at 8/13 to win with their visitors 5/1. The draw is offered at 13/5.
Scotland should be able to see off Lithuania in their latest Euro 2012 qualifier and the odds suggest that they should do so with relative ease, said Hills spokesman Joe Crilly. Unfortunately whether they qualify is now out of their own hands and it appears that they have only the slimmest chance of doing so.
The last time that these two sides met a goalless draw was played out and Hills go 15/2 about this happening again.

WILLIAM HILL make Scotland 50/1 outsiders to qualify for Euro 2012 after the stunning disappointment of conceding ‘the penalty that never was’ to the Czechs who were able to equalise as a result. ‘Had the penalty not been given and Scotland won the game 2-1 we’d have been quoting them at 3/1 to make it to the Euro 2012 finals, instead they are now 50/1 no-hopers because of the penalty that never was’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Looking a little further ahead Hills make Scotland 11/4 to qualify for the next World Cup, but 1/ 4 not to.

They are also 1/3 favourites to qualify from their group, for which Montenegro are the 11/2 second favourites.
England dodged a bullet in the shape of France by the skin of their teeth and they have been cut ever so slightly to lift the trophy in Rio, said Hills spokesman Joe Crilly.
