Northern Ireland have been pushed out to 7/1 from 6/1 to qualify for Euro 2012 following their disappointing draw 1-1 with the Faroe Islands on Tuesday afternoon.

Nigel Worthingtons side were odds on favourites to beat the minnows, but they were only saved an embarrassing defeat when Kyle Lafferty equalised in the 76th minute.

Northern Ireland are now quoted as 14/1 shots to win Group C by William Hill who make Italy the 4/11 favourites to win the Group.

Northern Ireland seem to have no problem competing against the big teams in Europe – its the lesser teams who are the problem, said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny They put in a brilliant performance against Italy last week, but they failed to follow it up in the Faroes.
