WILLIAM HILL, who are no longer betting on WHO will be the next Scotland manager, have opened a book on HOW well the successful candidate will do, and how long he or she will last in the post. ‘Given the fact that Ralph Topping, our CEO is also non-executive chairman of the SPL we would not like any aspersions to be cast in his or our direction in the event of any major gamble taking place on the identity of the new Scotland managerial appointment, so we have decided to close our book. All bets already taken will be honoured.’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hills offer 8/1 that the new incumbent will succeed in getting Scotland qualified for the final stages of both the Euro 2012 and 2014 World Cup – but 4/6 that they fail to qualify for either. And Hills offer 11/4 that the new boss will still be in charge on January 1, 2014.
