Harry Redknapp is the Even money favourite to be the next Chelsea manager in the wake of a massive overnight gamble. Having started out as a 25/1 shot, he was backed all the way in to 6/1 by yesterday afternoon. By last night he was 5/2 and the money did not stop there, with numerous three figure bets being placed as far afield as Johannesburg.
There is no smoke without fire and the weight of this gamble would suggest that a decision may be imminent, said Hills spokesman Joe Crilly.
Guus Hiddink is the 3/1 second favourite with Hills, while Marco van Basten is 4/1.
