You Bet Cup Final Can Outdo Manc Derby

WILLIAM HILL are predicting that the FA Cup Final will produce a bigger betting turnover than the crucial Manchester City v Manchester United Premier League title showdown game earlier this week. Some £20m was gambled on the Manchester derby, but with a north versus south clash in the Cup Final and with both managers battling to secure their futures at the clubs we are anticipating a betting bonanza exceeding that total said Hills spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Chelsea are favourites to lift the trophy, at 4/6 with William Hill who offer Liverpool at 5/4; while Chelsea are 15/4 to win both the Cup and the Champions League (9/4 to win neither). Defeat at Wembley could spell the end of Kenny Dalglishs current reign at Liverpool and he is 8/11 with Hills not to be in charge at the start of next season, and Even money still to be in place. Liverpools unimpressive League position could well outweigh the achievement of winning the Carling Cup, but Kenny would have a much stronger case to continue in the job if he adds the FA Cup said Sharpe.
Roberto Di Matteo has won admirers with the way he has steadied the Chelsea ship since he took over on a temporary basis, and Hills now make him 8/11 still to hold the role at the start of next season, although other contenders include 11/2 joint second favourites Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, while Fabio Capello has suggested he would like to manage in the Premier League and has been made 9/1 joint fourth favourite for the Chelsea job and 5/2 to be managing any Prem side by the start of next season.
