O’LEARY HEADING FOR NEWCASTLE?

WILLIAM HILL have made David O’Leary 11/4 second favourite in their market about who will be Newcastle manager on the first day of 2010, with only Alan Shearer preferred in the betting, at 11/10.
‘Media rumour seems to suggest that should Mike Ashley fail to find a buyer he may decide to stay at the club and offer O’Leary the job’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe, ‘But Alan Shearer is still likely to be the first port of call for any potential purchaser of the club’.
