Champs League: City Left Blue, But United Progression Is Taken As Red
Manchester United and Manchester City have struggled so far to make much of an impact in the Champions League and William Hill are offering 7/2 that both sides fail to reach the knockout phase of the competition. Hills are offering 7/2 that both Manchester teams manage to make it through to the final 16 of the Champions League and 1/20 that only one of the two sides makes it through the group stage.
It looks as though Manchester City are going to fall short of progression in their maiden Champions League outing with Napoli just 2/7 to qualify ahead of them, while Manchester United are the same price to pip FC Basel to the knockout phase of the competition.
Both sides have cut it fine in what has been a highly inconsistent campaign so far, but while United look like they may well just sneak through, Citys fate is now out of their own hands, said Hills spokesman Joe Crilly.
