Portugal 13/2 For Euros Glory As Ronaldo Humiliates Dutch

Germany and Portugal made it through to the knockout stages of the Euros at the expense of Denmark and pre-tournament third favourites Holland. Initially offered at 13/2 the Dutch were very underwhelming all tournament and that did not change against Portugal who are now 13/2 to win the tournament, while Germany are 9/4 joint favourites with Spain.

“Rather than battle as they did in the World Cup, the Dutch capitulated in every game that they played in and we do not have to worry about the half a million liability we racked up on them,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Worryingly, however, Portugal and Germany both leave us with large six figure payouts so we’re not out of the woods just yet.”

Cristiano Ronaldo scored two to put his side through and William Hill make him 4/1 to be the Euros top scorer and more importantly, he is 1/2 to pip Lionel Messi to the Ballon D’Or with the Argentinian 13/8.

Tournament winner: 9/4 Germany; 9/4 Spain; 13/2 Portugal; 7/1 France; 10/1 England; 14/1 Italy; 33/1 Czech Republic; 33/1 Croatia; 50/1 Greece; 100/1 Ukraine

Top goalscorer: 2/1 Mario Gomez; 7/2 Fernando Torres; 4/1 Cristiano Ronaldo; 16/1 Cesc Fabregas; 16/1 Mario andzukic; 25/1 Alan Dzagoev; 25/1 Karim Benzema; 33/1 BAR

Ballon D’Or: 1/2 Ronaldo; 13/8 Messi; 10/1 Iniesta; 12/1 Gomez; 16/1 Xavi; 20/1 Silva, Casillas; 25/1 BAR

Champs League: City Left Blue, But United Progression Is Taken As Red

Champs League: City Left Blue, But United Progression Is Taken As Red
Manchester United and Manchester City have struggled so far to make much of an impact in the Champions League and William Hill are offering 7/2 that both sides fail to reach the knockout phase of the competition. Hills are offering 7/2 that both Manchester teams manage to make it through to the final 16 of the Champions League and 1/20 that only one of the two sides makes it through the group stage.
It looks as though Manchester City are going to fall short of progression in their maiden Champions League outing with Napoli just 2/7 to qualify ahead of them, while Manchester United are the same price to pip FC Basel to the knockout phase of the competition.
“Both sides have cut it fine in what has been a highly inconsistent campaign so far, but while United look like they may well just sneak through, City’s fate is now out of their own hands,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
Both Manchester sides to fail to reach the knockout phase of Champions League: 7/2
Both Manchester sides to progress into knockout stage of Champions League: 7/2
Either one of the Manchester sides to progress to knockout stage of Champions League: 1/20
To qualify from Group A: 2/7 Napoli; 5/2 Manchester City
To qualify from Group C: 2/7 Manchester United; 5/2 Basel

City Bring Home Bacon As Hills Regret Rasher Offers

Mancini triumph has Danish written all over it as:
CITY SLICKERS BRING HOME BACON TO LEAVE BOOKIES RUEING RASHER PRICES

WILLIAM HILL paid for their bold policy of offering the longest odds available for Manchester City to win the FA Cup Final in 90 minutes’ play. ‘We opened up at Even money in the morning and had to push the price out to 11/10 at one point as punters steamed into Stoke for a shock win’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe, ‘We were rewarded with over fifty four-figure bets for City in 90m, although of the tens of thousands of 90 minute bets, just over half were for Stoke.’Big bets for City came in from as far afield as Australia – where we took a ten thousand Aussie dollar bet for them – and Denmark – two, one, of 70,000 krone (over £8000) at 11/10 and another of 100,000k. It is fair to say we were made to pay for being top price – however, if one Manchester side caused us pain, another came to our rescue on the day, and United’s failure to beat Blackburn significantly helped to redress the balance over the afternoon.’

**A Hill’s internet client from Hertfordshire staked £2000 on City at 15/2 to win the FA Cup at the start of the season.

**PUNTERS also cleaned up on Hill’s 5/2 for Man City ‘ to win to nil’.

WITH CITY AND STOKE meeting again in midweek, Hills offer 8/15 the same outcome, with Stoke 4/1 to get some revenge and the draw 13/5.

As Tevez catches Berbatov:

Carlos Tevez, level with Berbatov, is now a 2/1 chance with Hills to win the Premier League Golden Boot, with Berbatov quoted at the same odds and 6/5 that they will finish level.

AFTER hammering Cardiff, Reading are quoted at Even money by William Hill to win the Play Off Final against Swansea, for which the Welsh side are 8/11 favourites .Hills offer 4/11 that whichever side wins the Final will be relegated next season, and 2/1 that they will stay up.
