WILLIAM HILL have slashed their odds for a disappointing turnout at Wembley of between 40,000 and 49,999 fans for England’s friendly against Hungary from 20/1 to 6/4 after taking a flood of bets that the official attendance will be extremely low. Hills have also cut 30,000 – 39,999 from 66/1 to 3/1, and a humiliating 20,000- 29,999 from 100/1 to 16/1. ‘The FA are pulling out all the stops to encourage a decent turnout for this game,but with most clubs wishing it wasn’t happening and fans having shelled out for club season tickets, and following such a dismal World Cup performance, punters have decided a low turnout is a certainty’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
