Bookies Breathe Sigh Of Relief As England And France Draw

After a hard fought draw, William Hill were breathing a sigh of relief. As the game kicked off, 47% of all bets had been for Roy Hodgson’s men, with 39% of all bets being placed on France.

“We offered an industry top price of 5/2 about England, which punters were desperate to get on, while at the same time, France were also well backed by our more pragmatic punters. If we had seen a win for either side, we would have been paying out a seven figure sum,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

There were some top notch performances from the England players against France and William Hill are offering 7/4 that all eleven of tonight’s starting XI start vs Sweden with 11/8 offered for ten.

Danny Welbeck lead the line very well against France and he is 1/3 to start the match against Sweden and 6/5 to start the match against Ukraine. One person who did not impress, however, was the referee and Nicola Rizzoli is 16/1 from 7/1 to officiate in the Final.

Niccola Rizzoli to Officiate the Final: 16/1

How many of England XI to start v Sweden

Spanish Referee On Drift For Final After Horror Show

Carlos Velasco Carballo will have been riding high when told he would be officiating the opening game of the Euros but William Hill think he will have plummeted to unfathomable depths following the dubious red card he handed out and the potential penalty he turned down. He has drifted from 12/1 to 16/1 to officiate the final.

“After 10 minutes, the Spaniard was doing well, allowing the play to flow, but then suddenly, he had a change of heart and decided that he was going to start showing cards for the most innocuous of challenges,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “His performance will not go down well with the UEFA bigwigs.”

Tweeting Twit Barton Barking Up Wrong Tree

Joey Barton has come out and stated that he thinks it is only a matter of time before a team sues a match official although William Hill are on the side of the officials, offering 16/1 that a Premier League club sues a referee in the next 5 years (1/100 that they don’t).

“Joey Barton is still angry at what he sees as an unjustified red cad against Norwich and quite possibly has not given any thought to the logic of his argument,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Any attempt by a club to sue an official would contravene the ‘RESPECT’ campaign and would surely result in ramifications for that particular club.”

Will any Premier League club sue a match official in the next five years: 16/1 yes; 1/100 no

16/1 England Match To Be Called Off In Fifa Poppy Row

16/1 ENGLAND MATCH TO BE CALLED OFF IN FIFA POPPY ROW
Bookmakers William Hill – who are donating profits from their ‘Poppy Shirt’ markets to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal – have lengthened their odds about England playing the game in shirts adorned with poppies, from 7/2 to 9/2 and go 1/8 that they will not do so. ‘It seems unlikely that the FA will go so far as to disobey FIFA as blatantly as permitting the wearing of poppies on the shirts’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
FIFA have also indicated that the referee will have the authority to cancel the game if he is not happy with any aspect of England’s kit, and William Hill now offer 16/1 that the game will not take place, although they are 1/100 for it to go ahead.

Rooney 11/4 For Increased Euro Ban As Joint Favs To Succeed Worthington

11/4 ROONEY TO GET INCREASED EURO BAN

WILLIAM HILL offer 11/4 that Wayne Rooney’s one match Euro 2012 finals’ suspension will be increased, and 1/ 4 that it will remain as it is. ‘Rooney’s hopes of keeping the ban at one match appear to be boosted by the referee’s comments that he accepted his sending off without protest, and it is in England’s best interests that that is the case’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
With the possibility of an increased ban Hills have lengthened their odds for Rooney to go straight back into the starting line up for the next game for which he is eligible from 2/ 5 to 1/ 2, and have shortened the odds that he will not, from 7/4 to 6/4. ‘The more games he misses the less likely he is to come straight back in, particularly if the side does well in his absence’ said Sharpe.

**WAYNE ROONEY has been lengthened from 7/2 favourite to 9/2 second favourite to be Englan’s top scorer at the Euro 2012 Finals after his sending off means he will miss at least one game. Hills now make Darren Bent 4/1 favourite and also offer 6 Carroll; 7 Gerrard; 8 Walcott; Young; 9 Welbeck; 10 Defoe. Others on request.
WAYNE ROONEY IS 10/1 favourite with William Hill to be the NEXT England player sent off. ‘Rooney’s suspect temperament is always likely to let him down at crucial moments’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

COTTERILL NEW FAVOURITE FOR FOREST JOB

‘No doubt Forest want to be sure of getting the right man, but they’ll also want to have that person in place as quickly as possible’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

KEAN V BRUCE TO BE NEXT PREM BOSS OUT?

Steve Kean and Steve Bruce are the two clear favourites to be the next Premier League boss to part company with his club – William Hill make the Blackburn manager 8/13favourite, with Bruce a 5/4 chance. ‘These two desperately need a sudden improvement in their Premier League fortunes or they could be on the way out sooner rather than later’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Owen Coyle is 8/1 third favourite with Hills who also offer 12/1 Moyes; Warnock; 14/1 Wenger. Others on request.

You Bet Scotland Won’t Be Paying The Penalty Against Lithuania

Scotland suffered last minute heartbreak against Czech Republic at Hampden Park on Saturday and all eyes will turn to the referee against Lithuania this week. Hills are offering 10/3 that there is a penalty awarded in the match (1/5 there is not one awarded). Scotland are 50/1 to qualify for Euro 2012 but the odds indicate that there is no reason why they should not win, offered at 8/13 to win with their visitors 5/1. The draw is offered at 13/5.

“Scotland should be able to see off Lithuania in their latest Euro 2012 qualifier and the odds suggest that they should do so with relative ease,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Unfortunately whether they qualify is now out of their own hands and it appears that they have only the slimmest chance of doing so.”
