Hatem Has Arfa Chance Of Getting Goal Of The Season…is Motd’s Dream Team On The Way Out?

Hatem Ben Arfa scored one of the goals of the season for Newcastle against Bolton on Monday although William Hill think that his effort still falls some way behind Peter Crouch’s effort vs Manchester City. Crouch is 4/7 to win Match of the Day’s annual Goal of the season competition, with Ben Arfa 6/1. Hills also offer 15/8 about any other goal winning the accolade.

“With Ben Arfa and a couple of screamers from Robin van Persie this season, there is nothing to say it is a Crouchy certainty, but he has set quite the benchmark,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

With rumours suggesting that the current Match of the Day ‘dream team’ of Lineker, Lawrenson and Hansen may be squeezed out to make way for younger blood, Hills are offering 7/1 that none of them return to the studio next season, it is however, 4/9 that they all return.

2/1 For Balotelli AND Mancini To Have Left By Next Season

Hills are offering 2/1 that both Mancini and Balotelli will have left Manchester City by the start of next season, 1/1 that just one of them will still be there and 9/4 that they are both still there.

They also offer 4/7 that Mancini will still be there (5/4 he has gone) and 8/13 that Balotelli has gone (6/5 he is still there).

“Mancini has shown his forgiving side in dealing with Carlos Tevez, but Balotelli may well have pushed his manager over the edge,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Match of the Day Goal of the Season: 4/7 Peter Crouch; 6/1 Hatem Ben Arfa; 15/8 Any other player

How many of Lineker, Hansen and Lawrenson will be on MOTD next season: 7/1 none; 2/1 one or two; 4/9 three

Top goalscorer: 1/7 Robin van Persie; 4/1 Wayne Rooney

Winner without Manchester United and Manchester City: 1/6 Arsenal; 4/1 Tottenham; 10/1 Chelsea; 20/1 Newcastle

Will Mancini and Balotelli still be at Manchester City next season: 2/1 both gone; 9/4 both still there; 1/1 One gone

Balotelli still at Manchester City at the start of next season: 8/13 yes; 6/5 no

1000/1 DEJA VILLA?

Aston Villa shocked Chelsea with a 2-1 home Premier League victory last season in which centre backs Richard Dunne and James Collins were their scorers with Didier Drogba getting the visitors’ reply.

William Hill are offering 1000/1 about the same score with the same scorers this weekend.’Maybe there will be deja vu at Villa Park’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

HILLS….LAST GAME ON SATURDAY MOTD

William Hill believe that the Wolves-West Ham and Bolton-Stoke matches are likely to scrap it out to be the LAST game shown on Match of the Day this weekend. ‘We’ll be staggered if the last game is not one of these two’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

DOES DANNY HAVE A POINT – WILL HE SEE RED HIMSELF ?

WITH Danny Murphy pointing the finger at Blackburn, Stoke and Woklves, William Hill are betting on how many red cards those three clubs will clock up between them by the end of the Premier League season and make them 13/10 to end up with a total of 11 or more, whereas Murphy’s Fulham are 6/5 to receive no more than one all season and he is 10/1 to be red-carded himself. ‘Murphy’s outspoken comments have certainly put the focus on the disciplinary records of the three clubs he mentioned so we’re betting on their red card records’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

**Hills make Murphy 9/4 to be carded aginst Spurs this weekend.

WAYNE 8/1 TO QUIT UNITED

Following Wayne Rooney’s recent comments, bookmakers William Hill are offering 5/2 that Alex Ferguson does not start him against West Brom at the weekend and 8/1 that he is not at Utd come the first day of next season. Man Utd are the 8/1 favourites to score the fastest goal this weekend and Owen Hargreaves, who is making his latest come back from injury, is 8/1 to score at any time.

‘These are troubled times for Rooney – he’s 13/2 not to start England’s next Euro qualifier, and it may be that he’ll have to make a clean break from United to get his career back on track’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Hills: Will Rooney Start Against West Brom?: 2/7 Yes; 5/2 No
If He Starts, Will He Finish The Game?: 5/6 Yes; 5/6 No
Rooney To Still Be At Man United On The First Day Of Next Season: 1/20 Yes; 8/1 No
What Will Happen First? 4/7 Rooney To Leave Man Utd; 5/4 Rooney To Get Divorced

WILLIAM HILL also make Wayne Rooney 13/2 to miss out on starting England’s next Euro 2012 qualifier, after yet another mediocre display in an England shirt. ‘England will hope Rooney’s club performances have shown him to be back to his best by the time the next qualifier comes around, or the striking positions could be well and truly up for grabs’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

2/1 MERSEYSIDE DERBY RED CARD

Merseyside Derbies are usually feisty affairs and William Hill are offering odds of 2/1 that there is a red card shown during the game. Liverpool, who go into Sunday’s game behind Everton and in the relegation zone, are 4/6 to finish the season in a higher league position than their Merseyside rivals. Hills are also offering 4/1 that Liverpool take all six points from Everton this season, while the blue side of Liverpool is 6/1 to take maximum points in the two grudge games.
“Liverpool desperately need to give their fans something to cheer about and it could well come in the form of victory over their rivals,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Will There Be A Red Card In The Derby Game: 2/1 Yes
