6/1 QATAR TO LOSE 2022 WORLD CUP

WILLIAM HILL are offering odds of 6/1 that the 2022 World Cup will take place anywhere other than Qatar, following reports that Bin Hammam could be expelled from FIFA. ‘The award of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar has attracted considerable controversy and it could yet be taken away from them in the current efforts to by FIFA to distance itself from all allegations of corruption’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
However, Hills offer 1/12 that the 2022 tournament will go ahead as announced, in Qatar.

The World Cup 2018 and 2022 bids host cities are being decided on 2nd December 2010 and William Hill make Russia the Even money favourite for 2018 and Qatar the 4/9 favourite for 2022. England’s bid for 2018 had been as short as 1/3, however, since the ‘cash-for-votes’ was exposed, the price has drifted out to 13/8.

“A month ago, England were the hot favourites to host the 2018 World Cup, but sadly it seems like Russia have now won the bid,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
