Roy’s Dilemma: Carroll And Welbeck Both 5/6 To Start…england 10/1 For Euros Glory

Danny Welbeck and Andy Carroll both got onto the scoresheet in Kiev and William Hill cannot decide who will partner Wayne Rooney of the pair in England’s next match. Carroll is 5/6 to start against the Ukraine with Danny Welbeck the same price. Wayne Rooney is 1/20 to start England’s next match.

“Both Welbeck and Carroll did their chances of starting against Ukraine no harm, grabbing a goal apiece but with the top dog returning it seems likely that it will be either/or rather than both who start,”said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

England’s starting XI went in at half time one goal up but 15 minutes later found themselves 2-1 down. With Wayne Rooney to return vs Ukraine, Hills offer 12/1 that Hodgson sticks with the same starting XI. After his superb cameo, Theo Walcott is 6/4 to start against Ukraine although a potential injury picked up against Sweden may prevent him from taking part

England are now 2/7 to qualify from Group D, 2/1 to win it and 10/1 to win Euro 2012.

To start vs Ukraine: 1/20 Rooney; 5/6 Carroll; 5/6 Welbeck

6/4 Walcott to start vs Ukraine (opposite not offered due to potential injury)
*bets void if announced he won’t play any part vs Ukraine due to injury

Didier No Longer Top Drog But You Bet He Will Stay In January

With uncertainty surrounding the Chelsea future of Didier Drogba, William Hill think that he will stay at the club during the January transfer window offering 2/5 that he is still there on the 1st February 2012 (7/4 that he moves during that period).

“Drogba has long been the main targetman for Chelsea, however his position as top dog is under threat from some of the younger pups,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Saying that, however, we do not think that he will bolt for the exit in January.”

Palace Travel To Old Trafford And Wednesday Europa Prices

Crystal Palace head to Old Trafford on Wednesday with the hosts 1/4 favourites with William Hill to secure a victory and the Eagles a massive 12/1 to spring an upset. With the hosts such firm favourites, Hills are offering a market on how many goals the home side will score and make two the 11/4 favourite followed by three at 3/1 but should the flood gates open, Hills make seven or more goals 33/1. Palace’s Wilfried Zaha has drawn comparisons to Lionel Messi but Hills think he has a long way to go before realising that potential and he is 4/1 to play for England before the 2014 World Cup. Zaha is 6/1 to score anytime and 16/1 to open the scoring at Old Trafford.

“Zaha will have the ultimate platform to showcase his talents although, we ultimately think that he (and his team) will struggle to score, let alone win,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Birmingham and Spurs are both taking part in the Europa League on Wednesday and while Birmingham are outsiders to win away in Braga (at 5/1) but Spurs are 2/5 to defeat PAOK Salonika at White Hart Lane. Spurs still represent England’s best prospect in this tournament and are 9/1 favourites to win the tournament.
