SOUTHAMPTON have been lengthened from 5/2 to 11/4 favourites for League One after losing their opening game by William Hill who also offer 4/1 Sheff W; 9/2 Huddersfield; 10/1 Brighton; Peterbro; 11/1 Charlton; 12/1 Plymouth; 22/1 Swindon.
WYCOMBE are the new League Two clear favourites with William Hill who have cut them from 9/1 to 8/1 and also offer 9/1 Gillingham; 10/1 Bradford; Rotherham; 11/1 Chesterfield; Port Vale; Shrewsbury; 12 Oxford; 14 Stevenage; 16 Aldershot; Northampton; Torquay.
‘The opening day of the season didn;t go to plan for most of the divisional favourites – but as last season showed via Norwich in particular, opening day defeat is far from being an insuperable setback’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
