Opening Day Thumpings Could See Early Managerial Changes

Mark Hughes, Chris Hughton and Brendan Rodgers all suffered heavy opening day defeats and William Hill offer 9/1 that two or three of them have gone before Christmas, 7/4 one of them has and 8/15 that none of them have . Another side struggling to adjust to the new season was Arsenal as they started life without Robin van Persie and William Hill make the Gunners 8/11 to score before their former striker does (Evens they do not).

“There were certainly a few sides who looked as though they were still on their holidays and their managers will have to turn things around quickly otherwise they could find themselves out of a job before the year is out,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

How many of Hughes, Hughton and Rodgers gone by Christmas: 8/15 none; 7/4 one; 9/1 two or three

You Bet Rvp Will Make It Rip For Efc

Robin van Persie looks set to make his Manchester United debut as his new team travel to Goodison and William offer 2/1 that he scores more than the whole Everton team put together. Everton are 11/8 to score more than RVP and they are 13/8 to tie. Van Persie is the 4/1 favourite to score the first goal and has been really well backed at Hills to do so, while former Blue, Wayne Rooney, is the 9/2 second favourite. Everton’s Nikica Jelavic is 7/1.

After his former club failed to find the net on Saturday, William Hill offer 8/11 that Arsenal manage to register a goal in the Premier League before van Persie does.

“There are many who think that van Persie has a lot to prove after only really having one full season at Arsenal and he will want to get off to a scoring start and our punters are really backing him to do so,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

The match at Goodison is notable every year for the fact that it sees Wayne Rooney return to his former club and Hills are offering a market on what the United talisman will do first. He is 15/8 to get a goal, 9/4 to be substituted and the same price to complete the game. He is 3/1 to receive a yellow card before anything else in the game and 40/1 to see a straight red.

Manchester United are odd on at 10/11 to get their season off to a winning start, with Everton 10/3 and the draw 23/10.

Despite their opening day defeat, William Hill still think that Liverpool will finish above their local rivals, Everton – offering 4/9 that they do so (13/8 they do not).

Liverpool/Everton season match bet: 13/8 Everton; 4/9 Liverpool

RVP vs Everton goals match bet (20/08/12): 2/1 RVP; 13/8 Tie; 11/8 Everton

What will Rooney do first: 15/8 score; 9/4 be substituted; 9/4 3/1 receive yellow card; 40/1 receive straight red card

Red Mist On The Tyne Hampers Arsenal’s Chance To Steal A March

Newcastle and Arsenal shared the spoils on the opening day of the season and Arsenal have been pushed out to 12/1 to win the Premier League with William Hill. In a fiery affair, there was one red card for Arsenal and could have been another with Joey Barton involved in both incidents. Hills offer 6/5 that Arsenal receive between one and three red cards this season and 7/4 that they get four or five. Joey Barton on the other hand is odds on, at 4/6 to receive no red cards this season and is 5/6 to still be at Newcastle at the end of the summer transfer window and 5/6 that he is not. An uninspiring draw will not have improved Arsenal fan’s dim view on Arsene Wenger’s transfer policy and he is 5/2 to have left his job by the final day of this season.

“Arsene’s men lost their heads once again at St James’ Park and came away with a draw,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “While not a disastrous result, the craft of Fabregas and Nasri was sorely missed and Wenger may have to splash the cash quite soon.”

Elsewhere, Liverpool’s odds of 10/1 were eased to 12/1 following a home draw against Sunderland.

Joey Barton Red Cards In The Premier League: 4/6 none; 5/2 one; 3/1 two or more

Arsenal red cards in the Premier League: 6/5 one – three; 7/4 four – five; 9/4 six or more

Joey Barton to still be at Newcastle come the end of the transfer window: 5/6 yes; 5/6 no

Arsene Wenger to still be Arsenal boss come the last day of the season: 2/7 yes; 5/2 no

Premier League Outright: 11/8 Manchester United; 5/2 Chelsea; 4/1 Manchester City; 12/1 Arsenal; 12/1 Liverpool; 50/1 BAR

Aguero Vs Torres: Let The Goals Begin!

Sergio Aguero could be a great signing for Manchester City and Hills offer 7/4 that he will score more than sixteen Premiership goals in the season, but 5/4 eleven or less. Aguero is set to become the second most expensive striker behind Torres who is 7/1 for the golden boot ahead of Aguero who is 11/1. Torres is 4/6 to score more Prem goals than Aguero (11/10) but after his disappointing last season for Chelsea Torres is available at 6/1 to fail to score in the first five Premiership games of this season .

Hills offer 11/10 for Torres to get off to a flyer and score against Stoke on the opening day.

“The Premiership is stuffed with fantastic strikers but with their price tags the pressure will be on Aguero & Torres to be quick out of the blocks!” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
