You Bet: Cesc Will Be Fab For Barca And How Will Arsenal Do Without Their Talisman?

New Barcelona signing Cesc Fabregas is rated a 6/4 chance by William Hill to start more league games for Barcelona than the talismanic Xavi (1/2). The bookies are also offering odds of 10/1 for Fabregas to make more league appearances for the Blaugrana than his idol and current Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola (263).

“Fabregas has taken the number four, the same number that Guardiola wore at the Camp Nou and it will be interesting to see whether he surpasses the achievements of his once idol and current mentor,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

The former Arsenal captain is rated a 12/1 chance to score against the Gunners this season and the same price to play again for the North London club before the end of his career.

“Arsenal made Cesc into the player that he is today and it is feasible that he could well turn out for the Gunners again before the end of his career,” said Crilly.

Hills are also offering odds on Cesc’s number of league starts for Barcelona this season and the number of goals he’ll score for the defending champions this season.

With Cesc out of the door at the Emirates, Hills think that a mass exodus may have been sparked and offer 1/2 that Samir Nasri is sold before the end of the transfer window and 15/2 that Robin Van Persie is.

Arsenal have to take on Udinese without Fabregas now and William Hill have priced up where they will exit the Champions League. They are 5/2 to go out to the Italians and 9/4 to exit at the group stages. They are 20/1 to win the competition.

You Bet City Will Be Gloved Up In Kiev

Liverpool go to Portugal to face Braga and William Hill are offering 5/4 that record signing, Andy Carroll, gets off the mark during the game. Braga conceded six during the Champions League against Arsenal; and Hills are offering 50/1 that Liverpool beat this and score seven or more. Liverpool are 6/5 to be the British team to progress furthest in the Europa League, while Manchester City are the 5/6 favourites to do so. Rangers are priced at 7/1. With three British sides in action on Thursday, Hills are offering Even money that there are more than three goals scored collectively between Rangers, Manchester City and Liverpool.

City are heading to the icy tundra of Kiev and Hills are offering 4/1 that 10 or all of Manchester City’s starting XI are wearing gloves when the match kicks off. City will be hoping their mercurial striker, Mario Ballotelli, will be on top form, yet Hills are offering 2/1 that his first action in the game will be a booking, while he is 6/4 to be subbed.

“Manchester City’s players can afford the best that handwear can offer and with temperatures plummeting in the Ukrainian capital, we expect that there will be a vast array of gloves on show,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Fabregas Now Odds-on To Leave Arsenal

Bookmakers William Hill have cut the price for Cesc Fabregas to leave Arsenal this summer from 11-10 to 8-11 following intense speculation in the Spanish press that he will re-join Barcelona this summer.
Catalan newspaper El Mundo Deportivo claim Fabregas has told family and friends that he has agreed a four-year deal with the Blaugrana.
Leading Spanish newspaper, Marca have also added fuel to the story. They quote the Arsenal skipper as saying “I want to make a decision about my future before the start of the World Cup. It’s impossible to perform at a tournament like the World Cup if you’re not fully focused on the sporting aspects of the game. I don’t want to be distracted by transfer talk.”
William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe said “The Spanish media seem to believe that it is a done deal and the money seems to suggest that he’ll be playing at the Camp Nou next season.”
