Premiership: Fergie Failure: When Will Rvp Hit Back Of Net?

Following a disappointing result for Manchester United, Manchester City have been trimmed from 13/10 to 6/5 to win the Premiership title. Hills now offer even money that Manchester United will not top the Premiership table in 2012 and although it is 4/5 that Van Persie breaks his duck at the weekend, it is 7/2 he fails to hit the back of the net in the next four fixtures.

“Tonight was a great result for the bookies and Sir Alex & RVP will need to raise their game if they are to win back their title,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.

Will Manchester United Top The Premiership Table Before Dec 31st?: 8/11 Yes, 1/1 No

When Will Robin Van Persie Score His First Man Utd Goal?: 4/5 Fulham, 3/1 Southampton, 9/2 Wigan, 10/1 Liverpool, 7/2 None of these Four

You Bet It’s Time To Drop The Flops

Of the players that started for England on Sunday night, there were a number of players who have been the mainstay of England’s underperforming side for the last 10 years or so. William Hill are now offering just 9/1 that Hodgson drops at least eight of those for their first match of the World Cup qualifiers. He is 6/5 to remain relatively loyal to his quarter final players with 6/5 offered for eight or nine of them to start vs Moldova.

England did show sporadic flashes of ability during the Euros, although all too infrequent and all eyes now turn to the World Cup qualifying. With a supposedly “easy” group, England are 1/5 to qualify and 4/9 to top the group. With England still unbeaten under Roy Hodgson (not counting penalties), Hills are 5/2 to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil without losing a game. Once there Hills do not think that they have much hope of winning the tournament and they are 20/1 to lift the Jules Rimet in two year’s time – the biggest price they have ever been for a World Cup.

“England hardly impressed during the tournament, but at the same time, showed a new found resilience. A bit of tinkering from Roy could produce a winning formula for the qualifiers and we think they will breeze through to Brazil,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

The Euros take pause for a few days as the semi finals loom on the horizon and William Hill are taking stock on what has been a torrid tournament for the bookies so far. “Not even England’s exit has given us any cheer,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Before last night, we had gone 14 games without a draw and when that happens, we are always going to take a bit of a kicking. On the plus side though, we have two fantastic semi finals in the pipeline and we reckon that turnover for the last three games could approach £10m for us alone.”

William Hill Semi Finals:
7/2 Portugal; 10/11 Spain; 11/5 draw
5/6 Germany; 19/5 Italy; 11/5 Draw

Winner: 13/8 Spain; 13/8 Germany; 11/2 Portugal; 11/2 Italy

England World Cup Qualifiers:
1/5 Qualify (10/3 not to)
4/9 Top the group (13/8 not to)
5/2 Qualify without losing a group game (2/7 not to)

How many of England’s starting XI vs Italy will start vs Moldova (7/9/12): 9/1 0-3; 2/1 4-7; 6/5 8-9; 9/4 10-11

England World Cup 2014 winner: 20/1

“After England/Ukraine, this is our second worst result of the Euros and we’ll certainly be cheering on Greece tomorrow,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Bookies Bashed By Blatter? Goal Line Tech Looks A Certainty

After Sepp Blatter’s comments regarding the use of goal line technology William Hill have slashed the price for it to be in place for the first match of the 2014 World Cup from 7/4 to 1/1 but it is 8/11 that it won’t be ready in time.
The more likely stage for introduction could be for the first match of the 2016 European Championships. William Hill are odds on at 5/6 that goal line technology to be used that summer in France.

“Goal line technology looks a certainty, it is just a question of when rather than if it is introduced,” said William Hill spokesman Mark Young.

Goal Line Technology to be used at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil: 8/11 No, 1/1 Yes

Goal Line Technology to be used at the 2016 European Championships in France: 5/6 Yes

Holland Still Clinging On But Bookies Bet They’re Bust

Despite being the pre-tournament 6/1 third favourites, Holland have flattered to deceive and while not out of the tournament just yet, William Hill feel relatively confident that the £500,000 liability on them is safe for the time being. “Holland have been absolutely woeful, epitomised by poor play from their star men Robben and Van Persie and while we still have a £500,000 liability on them, they need a near miracle to get out of their group,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Holland are 11/2 to progress from their group, while at the other end, Germany have not quite qualified but are 1/12 to win the group and 1/100 to qualify.

There has not been a single 0-0 draw in this tournament so far and not a Euros 0-0 since Italy met Spain in the quarter finals of 2008 and with the run as it is, William Hill are offering 5/1 that there is not a single stalemate in the tournament.

With a number of headed goals in the tournament and quite a few coming from defenders, Hills offer 6/4 that any of the eight centre backs in the Ireland/Spain and Italy/Croatia games score and 4/1 that any one of them opens the scoring.

33 goals have been score so far in the tournament and Hills offer 2/1 that more goals are scored in 90 minutes than at Euro 2004 when 83 were scored. Hills also go 16/1 about there being fewer than the 63 scored at Euro 96.

Will there be a 0-0 draw in Euro 2012: 5/1 no; 1/9 yes

Will any of Pique, Ramos, Bonucci, Chiellini, St Ledger, Dunne, Corluka, Schildenfeld score on Thursday: 1/2 no; 6/4 yes

Will any of Pique, Ramos, Bonucci, Chiellini, St Ledger, Dunne, Corluka, Schildenfeld score first on Thursday: 1/7 no; 4/1 yes

Record highest total goals (90 minutes) to be broken (83 in 2000): 2/1
Record lowest total goals (90 minutes) to fail to be reached (63 in 1996): 16/1

Tournament winner: 9/4 Germany; 11/4 Spain; 9/1 France; 10/1 Italy; 10/1 England; 12/1 Russia; 16/1 Portugal; 25/1 Croatia; 33/1 Holland; 40/1 Ukraine; 50/1 Poland; 66/1 Czech Republic; 66/1 Denmark; 100/1 Sweden; 250/1 Greece; 300/1 Republic of Ireland

Group B winner: 1/12 Germany; 6/1 Denmark; 20/1 Portugal

Group B to qualify (not to): 1/100 Germany (16/1); 2/5 Portugal (7/4); 11/4 Denmark (1/4); 11/2 Holland (1/10)
