Community Shield: Pressure On Di Matteo Already

Manchester City are the 4/6 favourites to lift the Community Shield on Sunday with William Hill also making the League Champions 2/5 to finish higher than Chelsea in the League this season. Roberto Di Matteo worked wonders towards the end of last season, however with a Pep Guardiola shaped shadow hanging over him, Hill’s offer 11/10 that he has left Stamford Bridge by the end of the season and the former Barca boss is 14/1 to be sat on the bench for Chelsea’s final game of the season.

“The Community Shield enables sides to get one over on their prospective title rivals but we think that if Chelsea lose this one, the pressure could be on Di Matteo already,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Formerly known as the Charity Shield, Hills offer 7/2 that there is no charity and that a red card is shown during the match.

Rdm To Be Given A Chelsea Chance But Gaurdiola Could Be In To Pep Things Up

It has been widely suggested that Roberto Di Matteo will be given the Chelsea job after his incredible work in the second half of the season. William Hill offer 11/10 that the Italian is no longer boss on the first day of the 2013/14 season.

“Di Matteo came in last season and performed admirably and it would be somewhat of an injustice if he was not given a fair crack of the whip,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Abramovich’s axe, however, is never far from the necks of his managers and if RDM slips up in the shadow of Guardiola, wholesale changes could be afoot.”

As Pep Guardiola stepped down at Barcelona, Roman Abramovich’s eyes must have lit up, but with the Spaniard claiming that he wanted a year away from the game, the Chelsea tycoon could not bag his man. William Hill are, however, offering 6/1 that by the time the 2013/14 season rolls round, the former Barca boss is sat at the helm at Stamford Bridge.

Roberto Di Matteo to be manager at the start of the 2013/14 season: 4/6 yes; 11/10 no

6/1 Pep Guardiola to be Chesea manager at the start of the 2013/14 season

*both bets only count should Roberto Di Matteo be named as next permanent Chelsea manager

When Will Fab’s Eye For Goal Run Out Of Gas?

Real Madrid and Barcelona both dropped points on Wednesday night and William Hill are offering 1/3 that the pair both fail to win during the same round of matches again this season. Amidst the misery for both sides, Cesc Fabregas scored the fourth goal in his fourth league match since his move to Barca and Hills are offering 9/2 that his run continues for at least another three games. His run is 8/15, however, to come to an end this weekend. Hills go 7/1 that Fabregas scores over 25 goals this season and 4/1 that he scores between 21 and 25.

“Fabregas has settled well at Barcelona and his continued good form could see him extend his current goalscoring record,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Consecutive Fabregas Goals: 8/15 four (current run); 5/2 five games; 11/2 six games; 9/2 seven or more games
Must start vs Atletico or bets void

Real Madrid and Barcelona both to drop points in the same round of fixtures: 1/3 yes; 9/4 no

You Bet: Cesc Will Be Fab For Barca And How Will Arsenal Do Without Their Talisman?

New Barcelona signing Cesc Fabregas is rated a 6/4 chance by William Hill to start more league games for Barcelona than the talismanic Xavi (1/2). The bookies are also offering odds of 10/1 for Fabregas to make more league appearances for the Blaugrana than his idol and current Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola (263).

“Fabregas has taken the number four, the same number that Guardiola wore at the Camp Nou and it will be interesting to see whether he surpasses the achievements of his once idol and current mentor,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

The former Arsenal captain is rated a 12/1 chance to score against the Gunners this season and the same price to play again for the North London club before the end of his career.

“Arsenal made Cesc into the player that he is today and it is feasible that he could well turn out for the Gunners again before the end of his career,” said Crilly.

Hills are also offering odds on Cesc’s number of league starts for Barcelona this season and the number of goals he’ll score for the defending champions this season.

With Cesc out of the door at the Emirates, Hills think that a mass exodus may have been sparked and offer 1/2 that Samir Nasri is sold before the end of the transfer window and 15/2 that Robin Van Persie is.

Arsenal have to take on Udinese without Fabregas now and William Hill have priced up where they will exit the Champions League. They are 5/2 to go out to the Italians and 9/4 to exit at the group stages. They are 20/1 to win the competition.

You Bet Tevez U-turn…fab Number Of Starts

Corinthians have pulled out of a deal to sign Carlos Tevez at the last minute and William Hill now make him 2/1 to join ANY English club after he leaves Manchester City. He is 5/2 to join any South American side and 4/1 to join Real Madrid. Juventus are 6/1 and Inter Milan 7/1.

“In a real U-Turn, it now appears more likely that Tevez will stay in England than go anywhere else when he inevitably leaves City although in terms of specific clubs, it appears that Real Madrid lead the race for the want away striker,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Carlos Tevez Next Club: 2/1 English; 5/2 South American Club; 4/1 Real Madrid; 6/1 Juventus; 7/1 Inter Milan; 20/1 AC Milan; 20/1 Malaga; 25/1 MLS Club; 25/1 Barcelona

FABREGAS GAMES STARTING AT BARCA

With Barcelona and Arsenal undertaking a tentative dialogue over the future of Cesc Fabregas, William Hill are offering odds on how many games he will start for the Catalan giants. He is 5/2 to start between 16 to 20 games, 9/2 to start under 11 games and 13/2 over 30.

“Despite the dearth of quality midfielders available to Barcelona, it looks as though the Spanish Champions may well be able to find a way to shoehorn him into their starting line-up,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Number of Fabregas starts for Barcelona in La Liga in the 2011-12 Season*:
9/2 Under 11
3/1 11-15

Champions League Final: You Bet History Can Repeat Itself

William Hill think that history may well repeat itself and offer odds on all previous Manchester United European Final victories. In 1968, Manchester United won the European Cup Final at Wembley by four goals to one and Hills offer 100/1 that United defeat Barca by the same score this weekend. In 1999, they came back from 1-0 down to triumph and Hills offer 14/1 that United come from behind and win within 90 minutes. 2008 saw United beat Chelsea on penalties and for the same to happen on Saturday is 11/1.

United also lost a Champions League Final in 2009 2-0 to Barcelona and Hills offer 8/1 for a repeat of that score line.

“In such a hotly contested match between two European heavyweights there is a strong feeling that we may see history repeating itself in one way or another,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

MANCHESTER UNITED are the longest odds they have been all season to win a game in 90minutes play as they prepare to take on Barcelona in the Champions League, with Hills offering them at 3/1 to clinch victory without having to worry about extra time or a penalty shot-out. Barca are 21/20 for a 90min win with the draw 21/10.
