Cott Out As Forest Build For Future With ‘arry?

Following the sacking of Steve Cotterill, William Hill make Darren Ferguson the 2/1 favourite to be named as the next permanent boss of Nottingham Forest although the ambitious new owners could be able to tempt Harry Redknapp to the club, offered at 4/1.

A couple of notable former Forest players that could be in the frame to make a return in the dugout are Roy Keane at 10/1, Stuart Pearce and Nigel Clough both at 20/1 and Gary Megson 25/1.

“Steve Cotterill did a fantastic job under very difficult circumstances last season but the ambition of the new Forest owners is highlighted by the fact that they are being linked with Harry Redknapp, Roy Keane and bizarrely, Diego Maradona – who is recently out of a job,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Under their new ownership, Forest are 1/10 to finish higher than their 19th position from last season.

SHIN UP: NEW UNITED BOYS AIM TO CLOSE GAP ON CITY

Shinji Kagawa was paraded in front of the media on Thursday with fellow signing Nick Powell and the Japanese international is 11/4 to net between 12 and 15 times for United this term. He is expected to play a pivotal role at Old Trafford this season and is 11/2 to start more than 26 games at United this season and 3/1 to start less than ten games.

“While Man City had Yaya Toure and David Silva, Manchester United were really lacking a creative midfielder last year and Kagawa looks like he will fill that role now,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Nick Powell, the 18 year old signing from Crewe is more likely one for the future. William Hill have him at 8/13 to start one or no games in the Premier League. He is 9/2 to start six or more in the Premier League this time. A big impact this season is unlikely but he is 7/1 to make the England squad for the World Cup in 2014.

Next Nottingham Forest manager: 2/1 Darren Ferguson; 4/1 Harry Redknapp; 7/1 Mick McCarthy; 10/1 Roy Keane; 16/1 Alex McLeish; 16/1 Billy Davies; 16/1 Karl Robinson; 16/1 Diego Maradona; 20/1 Alan Shearer; 20/1 Stuart Pearce; 20/1 Alan Curbishly; 20/1 Neil Warnock; 20/1 Nigel Clough; 25/1 Gary Megson; 25/1 Gordon Strachan; 25/1 Iain Dowie; 25/1 Ian Holloway; 25/1 Ole Gunnar Solksjaer; 25/1 Paolo Di Canio; 25/1 Paul Ince; 25/1 Rafa Benitez; 25/1 Phil Brown; 25/1 Glenn Hoddle; 25/1 Sven Goran Eriksson

Nottingham Forest finishing position: 9/1 lower; 7/1 exactly 19th; 1/10 higher

Roy Hodgson 5/2 To See Contract Out Until 2016: Curbishley Favourite For West Brom Role!

Roy Hodgson is widely expected to become England manager in the next 24 hours but William Hill are already betting on when he will leave the position. Should England have a shocker at the European Championships, he could be on his way and he is 14/1 to go this year. His contract is expected to last until after the 2016 Championships and that is the favourite to be his year of departure at 5/2.

“Despite not being everyone’s first choice, the odds suggest that England will stick with Hodgson until 2016,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Hodgson favourites who could make the squad under their former boss include Bobby Zamora (2/1), Joe Cole (7/1) and Andy Johnson (4/1). Those who could miss out are his former Liverpool cohorts and Hills offer 6/1 that no Reds player starts England’s first Euros match.

West Brom will need to find a successor for Roy Hodgson and Alan Curbishley is the 3/1 early favourite to get the job, with Chris Hughton 4/1 and Michael Appleton a 6/1 shot.

William Hill Odds:

Year Hodgson goes: 14/1 2012, 11/2 2013, 11/4 2014, 5/1 2015, 5/2 2016, 7/2 2017 or later

To make the euro 2012 squad: 2/1 Bobby Zamora, 4/1 Andy Johnson, 7/1 Joe Cole, 33/1 Paul Konchesk

6/1 No Liverpool player in the starting line up v France

Next West Brom Manager: 3/1 Alan Curbishley, 4/1 Chris Hughton, 6/1 Michael Appleton, 8/1 Roberto Martinez, 10/1 Lee Clark, 10/1 Steve Bruce, 12/1 Dean Kiely, 14/1 Tony Mowbray, 14/1 Derek McInnes, 14/1 Gus Poyet, 16/1 Gianfranco Zola, 16/1 Mick McCarthy, 16/1 Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, 16/1 Rafael Benitez, 20/1 Paul Lambert, 20/1 Brendan Rodgers, 20/1 Darren Ferguson, 20/1 Dave Jones, 20/1 Glenn Hoddle, 20/1 Sam Allardyce, 20/1 Walter Smith, 25/1 Gordon Strachan, 25/1 Ray Wilkins, 25/1 Dougie Freedman, 25/1 Roy Keane, 33/1 Alan Shearer, 33/1 Gary Megson, 33/1 Paul Ince, 50/1 Bryan Robson.

Anton Backed To Snub Terry On Saturday…

BOOKIES FACE BEING SHOOK UP BY HANDSHAKE SHENANIGANS

William Hill have seen a plunge on the odds of Anton Ferdinand snubbing John Terry during the pre match handshakes with the ‘no’ odds backed in from 11/10 to 8/11. “We have seen a number of three figure bets, the majority of which have come from the East End of London and if Mr Ferdinand fails to shake Terry’s hand, we could be all shook up,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Will Anton Ferdinand shake John Terry’s Hand: 8/11 no; 1/1 yes

WILL BELLAMY GIVE BOYHOOD TEAM THE BLUES AT WEMBLEY?

Craig Bellamy has claimed that it will be emotional playing for Liverpool against his boyhood side Cardiff City and William Hill are offering 4/9 that he starts the match at Wembley next month (13/8 he does not). He is 5/4 to bag a goal in the final and 20/1 to see red.

MEGSON COULD GET TROTTERS REVENGE SOONER RATHER THAN LATER!

Gary Megson has reignited his war of words with Bolton Wanderers and William Hill think that he could well get the chance to face up against his former employers sooner rather than later, offering 3/1 that the two teams play each other in the Championship next season. Bolton are 5/6 to be relegated, while Sheffield Wednesday are 11/10 to gain promotion from League 1.

Should the teams face each other next season, Hills are offering 40/1 that Megson receives a red card and is sent to the stands.

“There will be no love lost between Megson and the Bolton fans and he will be sure to be on the receiving end of a bit of stick which could see him lose his rag and be banished to the stands,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Curbs Cut For Villa Boss But Macdonald Still Favourite

William Hill have slashed the price of Alan Curbishley becoming the new Aston Villa manager from 10/1 to 4/1 following an overnight gamble that was sparked by a rumoured meeting with Randy Lerner. Conversely, Kevin MacDonald has been eased out from 4/6 to 5/4. Sven Goran Eriksson is the 5/1 third favourite with Gerard Houllier 10/1. The Mark Hughes gamble has ended and he is now 16/1 from a low of 3/1.

“It looks like Curbs met with Randy Lerner yesterday, so he must be on the shortlist; however the odds seem to suggest that Lerner may well stick with MacDonald,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill Next Villa Manager: 5/4 Kevin MacDonald; 4/1 Alan Curbishley; 5/1 Sven Goran Eriksson; 10/1 Gerard Houllier; 11/1 David Moyes; 14/1 Ronald Koeman; 16/1 Alex McLeish; 16/1 Mark Hughes; 20/1 Paul Lambert; 20/1 Martin Jol; 20/1 Jurgen Klinsmann; 20/1 Gary Megson; 20/1 Bob Bradley; 20/1 Gareth Southgate; 20/1 Phil Brown; 25/1 BAR
