It’s All About The Money…greece 50/1 For Euros/euro Exit

Germany are the 1/3 favourites to defeat Greece in 90 minutes on Friday evening, with William Hill making the ’96 winners 1/7 to qualify for the semi final.

Germany’s dominance is highlighted by the fact that the first six runners in the Man of the Match market are German, with Mesut Ozil 5/2 favourite and Mario Gomez 3/1. Theofanis Gekas is 10/1 joint seventh favourite for that honour and the first Greek player in the betting.

Hills also offer 2/1 that Mario Gomez scores more than the whole Greek team put together.

The match is being built up as the head to head between the haves and have nots and Hills are offering 50/1 that Greece exit both the Euros AND the Euro before the end of the week, while it is 5/1 for Greece to still be using the Euro by the start of Euro 2016 (1/9 not to be).

“This match is expected to mirror the contrasting financial differences between the two teams and with that in mind, we reckon the German fans will be bouncing higher than a Greek cheque,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Tentacled Tipster Gives Bookies More Reason To Cheer

The news that Paul The Octopus has retired is music to the ears of bookmakers William Hill. “The predict-o-pus’s eight winning selections have helped superstitious punters to collect half a million from bookmakers coffers and anyone who bet £10 on each of the outcomes will have scooped £89.95 each, while those who “rolled” their money over onto the next outcome ended up with £1623.34.

“Picking all seven outcomes of Germany’s games, as well as the outcome of the World Cup final is quite some feat,” added Crilly. “We are thankful that Paul has now retired, and will happily give him a few s-quid towards a retirement aquarium to keep him that way. He has emerged as the star of the World Cup, and retiring at his peak will ensure that he goes down in history as a leg-end.”

William Hill Paul Specials:

5/1 To be given tipster column in British national newspaper.
33/1 To Accept a transfer to Spain
50/1 To Be Released Into The Wild
100/1 Squidnapped by distraught German fans .
250/1 Eaten by the German team on return from the World Cup
500/1 King Juan Carlos to confer Spain’s highest honour, the Order of the Golden Fleece, on the Octopus

Paul The Octopus Punters Are £1400 Ahead Of Bookies

PAUL THE OCTOPUS PUNTERS ARE £1400 AHEAD OF BOOKIES

PUNTERS following the World Cup tips from Paul the Octopus have won up to £1400 by doing so, say bookmakers William Hill, who have taken so many bets on the sea creature tipping the World Cup winner that they have cut their odds for him to do it from Even money to 10/11.
‘If you had just bet £10 on each of Paul’s six successive winning selections on Germany or their opponents so far, you would have made a healthy profit of £84 – but if you had put the winnings from each bet all on to the next one, you would now be looking at £1400 of profit!’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
‘Punters are superstitious creatures at the best of times – and many have favourite tipsters they like to follow, but they tend to be human, so this is the first time we’ve genuinely had punters coming into betting shops and asking staff about the predictions made by an octopus.’

William Hill offer:
100/1 To become part of Fabio Capello’s staff .
100/1 Eaten by the German team on return from the World Cup .
1000 King Juan Carlos to confer Spain’s highest honour, the Order of the Golden Fleece, on the Octopus .
1000/1 Squidnapped by distraught German fans .
