It’s All About The Money…greece 50/1 For Euros/euro Exit

Germany are the 1/3 favourites to defeat Greece in 90 minutes on Friday evening, with William Hill making the ’96 winners 1/7 to qualify for the semi final.

Germany’s dominance is highlighted by the fact that the first six runners in the Man of the Match market are German, with Mesut Ozil 5/2 favourite and Mario Gomez 3/1. Theofanis Gekas is 10/1 joint seventh favourite for that honour and the first Greek player in the betting.

Hills also offer 2/1 that Mario Gomez scores more than the whole Greek team put together.

The match is being built up as the head to head between the haves and have nots and Hills are offering 50/1 that Greece exit both the Euros AND the Euro before the end of the week, while it is 5/1 for Greece to still be using the Euro by the start of Euro 2016 (1/9 not to be).

“This match is expected to mirror the contrasting financial differences between the two teams and with that in mind, we reckon the German fans will be bouncing higher than a Greek cheque,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

90 minutes: 1/3 Germany; 9/1 Greece; 19/5 draw

To qualify: 1/7 Germany; 4/1 Greece

Man of the Match: 5/2 Mesut Ozil; 3/1 Mario Gomez; 6/1 Lukas Podolski; 6/1 Bastian Schweinsteiger; 6/1 Miroslav Klose; 8/1 Thomas Muller; 10/1 Mario Gotze; 10/1 Theofanis Gekas; 11/1 Andre Schurrle; 11/1 Dimitrios Salpigidis; 11/1 Marco Reus; 12/1 Georgios Samaras; 12/1 Toni Kroos; 14/1 BAR

Greece/Germany to go to penalties: 10/1

Goal scored from 76 mins-Full Time: 1/1

Celtic 2/1 To Win The League This Weekend…7/1 Action Packed Old Firm

Celtic can win the title this weekend if they defeat Rangers at Ibrox and Motherwell fail to beat Kilmarnock. William Hill are offering 2/1 that Celtic lift the trophy on Sunday and they are 10/11 to win their match, while Motherwell are the 7/5 favourites to win their match at Killie. Hills are expecting a full blooded affair and offer 7/1 that both Celtic and Rangers score, a penalty is awarded AND a red card is shown.

“Rangers will be desperate to prevent their rivals from lifting the trophy at Ibrox, while Celtic would love nothing more than that,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Both teams will be going all out for victory and this could be one of the feistiest Old Firm games in years.”

New Spl Season…latest Odds

The start of the new Scottish Premier League is upon us and William Hill cannot split the Old Firm clubs offering 5/6 for both sides to win this year’s SPL title. Hearts appear to be in pole position for the ‘best of the rest’ honours offered at 5/4 in the SPL without Old Firm sides followed by Dundee Utd at 10/30. At the other end of the table, newly promoted Dunfermline are the 5/2 favourites to finish bottom of the league with St Mirren 3/1.

Rangers striker Nickica Jelavic is the 3/1 joint favourite to win the SPL golden boot with Gary Hooper, with Celtic’s Anthony Stokes and Dundee Utd’s David Goodwillie 8/1.

There is a three way tie at the top of the SPL sack race, with Hearts’ Jim Jeffries, St Johnstone’s Derek McInnes and Kilmarnock’s Kenny Shiels all seemingly in the firing line as 4/1 joint favourites.

“The football season kicks off early this season, easing the anguish of a tournament free summer and we have a number of bets to keep every SPL punter involved until the final day,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

You Bet England Will Play Scotland In World Cup After All !

YOU BET ENGLAND CAN PLAY SCOTLAND IN WORLD CUP!

WILLIAM HILL have come up with a way of pitting England against Scotland in the World Cup to provide an unusual betting opportunity for customers north and south of the border. ‘Given the friendly rivalry between the two countries we are delighted to devise a bet which enables supporters to choose between them even though they won’t actually meet on the pitch during the tournament’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Scotland v England

10 players based in the SPL will feature in the World Cup, but for the purposes of this bet, and to make up a side of 11 in a 4-4-2 formation Scotland will ‘adopt ‘ Uruguayan Defender Andres Scotti for these bets.

The SPL select would line up as follows (Only these players count for the purpose of these bets)

Dusan Pernis (Slovakia/Dundee Utd)

Madjid Bougherra (Algeria/Rangers)

Edson Braafheid (Holland/Celtic)

Soulemayne Bamba (Ivory Coast/Hibs)

The Old Firm Connection

Rangers and Celtic both have a few players at the tournament.

Rangers have Maurice Edu and DeMarcus Beasley from the USA and Madjid Bougherra from Algeria alongside former favourites Craig Moore (Australia), Gio Van Bronkhorst (Holland), Pedro Mendes (Portugal), Sotirios Kyrgiakos (Greece) and Gennaro Gattuso (Italy).

In the Green Corner Celtic have Georgios Samaras (Greece), Ki Sung-Yong (South Korea), Edson Braafheid (Holland), Larry N’Guemo (Cameroon) plus former players Shunsuke Nakamura (Japan), Chris Killen (New Zealand) and Michael McGlinchy (New Zealand)

Despite the numerical advantage The Celtic Connection are favourites to outscore their Rangers counterparts.

“REPEAT OF 1950”

The USA recorded one of their most famous victories in 1950 when they defeated England 1-0. Strangley enough that day the Americans were captained by player born in Scotland.

USA to win 1-0 = 12/1
