Germany are 2/5 favourites to progress to the final of the Euros, also offered at 10/11 by William Hill to win the match in 90 minutes. Germany are expected to win the match comfortably, and Mario Gomez and Miroslav Klose are 9/2 favourites to open the scoring. As if to highlight the perceived dominance of the German side, only one Italian player is in the top five in the first scorer betting – the mercurial Mario Balotelli (13/2).

The Italian has the potential to light up any stage with his ability but he is also prone to seeing the occasional red mist. Super Mario is 12/1 to receive a red card in Thursday’s encounter in 90 minutes. It is 25/1 that a red card is the first thing that happens to Balotelli in the match. The favourite is that he gets subbed at 11/10, 13/8 he will finish the match, 5/2 he will be booked and 4/1 he will score. With a character like Balotelli on the pitch, each of those are as likely as the other but William Hill believe he will behave himself without scoring and will be replaced.

There is another Super Mario expected to be on the pitch on Thursday night and that is the German one, Gomez. The joint top goal scorer at Euro 2012 is 5/2 that he will be beat Balotelli in a goals match bet with the Italian at 10/3. The odds suggest they may do as well as each other with a tie rated at 8/15.

“It could be argued that Gomez has been the stand out performer in a Germany team that has done so well at this tournament but Balotelli, while not being as prolific, has the ability to turn a game on its head in an instant,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill are gearing up for a potential £100m tournament with the European Championships just around the corner. Hills offered 16/1 on England (now 10/1) on Saturday and added to their liabilities of over £1m on the Three Lions, while punters have also been backing Spain (11/4), Germany (3/1) , Holland (13/2) and France (10/1).

“We are incredibly excited about this tournament and so are our punters,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “In fact, we alone are expecting to take £100m across all channels throughout the course of the Euros.”

Germany’s Mario Gomez is the 8/1 favourite to win the Golden boot and given the expansive way in which the energetic and youthful German side play, they could well reach the Final (6/4) and score plenty of goals along the way. Gomez is followed in the betting by 10/1 Robin van Persie and 12/1 Cristiano Ronaldo, who had two of the most remarkable goalscoring records in world football last season. Being banned for the first two matches of the tournament, Wayne Rooney is 33/1 to end the tournament as top goalscorer while Thomas Muller, who won the Golden Boot at the 2010 World Cup, is 25/1 to do the same in Poland and Ukraine.

William Hill are expecting a real betting boom when the European Championships kick off on Friday. The firm are predicting that £100million could be placed by the time the full time whistle blows in the Final in the Olympic Stadium in Kiev – £3million of which is expected to be staked on England’s first game on Monday. Spain are the 11/4 favourites to win the tournament with Germany 3/1. England are 12/1 fifth favourites and despite the fact that they are the longest price ever to win a major tournament, that has not stopped Hills racking up a £1million liability should Roy’s boys lift the trophy.

The Euros is the first major football tournament taking place since William Hill launched their app and they are expecting that up to £15m will be punted by mobile punters with almost 100,000 bets being placed on the England/France game via smart phone.

“Chelsea had a bit of luck, a bit of quality and a lot of guts in their victory Barca last time out and we think they will need more of the same in order to get anything out of this game,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Hills are predicting that around £10million will be wagered industry wide on the game which would make it one of the largest turnover matches in history.

Arjen Robben is going to coming up against his former club and William Hill make him the 5/1 favourite to be named Man of the Match in the Champions League Final, ahead of his teammates, Mario Gomez at 6/1 and Frank Ribery at 7/1. Those three players are clearly Bayern’s danger men and Hills are offering 12/1 that all three of them score on Saturday evening.

“Chelsea successfully subdued the triple threat of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta in their last Champions League match although Bayern Munich offer a completely different and some would say more potent threat,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Chelsea had to rely on a bit of luck to grab the draw they needed in the Nou Camp and Leo Messi missed a penalty as Chelsea inched into the final. Hills are offering 20/1 that Bayern Munich are awarded a penalty in 90 minutes and miss it.

Didier Drogba was on fine form against Barcelona and he will need to be at his best to help Chelsea lift the trophy. He is 8/1 to open the scoring in the match and the same price to win man of the match. Despite the massive influence that he has had in his time at Chelsea, he s just 8/11 to have left the club by the start of next season (Even money to still be there).

“Drogba has been a fantastic servant to Chelsea and there would be no better way for him to sign off than put in a performance that helped Chelsea lift the trophy,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

PLAYOFF FINAL

Blackpool are taking on West Ham in the Championship playoff final and Hills make the Hammers the 19/20 favourites to win the match in 90 minutes and 8/13 to win promotion. Blackpool are quite big priced outsiders and are 14/5 to win the match in 90 minutes, although are only 5/4 to win promotion.

“There will be a lot of people who will be saying that the Champions League Final will be the showpiece event on Saturday, but given the way that both sides play, the match in Munich may have competition,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

With both sides favouring attack to defence, there is the chance that there could be a few goals and Hills are offering 4/1 that four or more goals are scored and West Ham win in normal time.

Some might say that Big Sam Needs a win in order to keep hold of his job and Hills go 13/8 that he is no longer West Ham boss on the first day of next season (4/9 he is still there).

WILLIAM HILL SCOTTISH CUP

The William Hill Scottish Cup reaches its climax on Saturday and the tournament sponsors make Hearts the favourites to lift the trophy in a match that is expected to attract up to £2 million turnover industry wide.
