Rvp Backed To Start Season At United

Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that Manchester United are still in the hunt for Robin van Persie and William Hill offer 6/4 that the Dutchman starts Manchester United’s first game of the season. William Hill think that van Persie and Wayne Rooney will be the focal point of Manchester United’s forward line and they are both 5/6 to outscore their potential future striking partner.

“Van Persie’s exit from Arsenal looks to be inching ever closer and we think he could be lining up for United on the first day of the season,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Should van Persie come in, United will probably have to offload one of their strikers and that would probably be Berbatov. Hills make Zenit St Petersburg the most likely destination for the Bulgarian at 6/4, with AC Milan 5/1 and Galatasaray 6/1.

Tony Hibbert scored his first ever goal for Everton in his testimonial against AEK Athens and William Hill are offering odds of 3/1 that he manages to break his Premier League duck this season (2/9 that he does not).

“Tony Hibbert may have got the goalscoring bug after his strike against AEK Athens and may venture further forward this season in order to get his name on the scoresheet again,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Brendan Rodgers has stated that every player has his price, hinting that Daniel Agger may well be on his way to Manchester City and the big Dane is 5/1 to sign for the Premier League Champions by the start of the 2012/13 season.

Tony Hibbert to score a Premier League goal in the Premier League during the 2012/13 season: 3/1 yes; 2/9 no

Robin van Persie to start Manchester United’s first game of the season: 6/4 yes; 1/2 no

Goals match bet: 5/6 van Persie; 5/6 Rooney
*van Persie must be a registered EPL player on 1st September or bets void

Daniel Agger to move to Manchester City by the start of the season: 5/1 yes; 1/9 no

Dimitar Berbatov next club: 6/4 Zenit St. Petersburg; 5/1 AC Milan; 6/1 Galatasaray; 8/1 QPR; 14/1 Leverkusen; 20/1 West Ham; 25/1 PSG; 25/1 Spurs

Carroll 8/13 To Leave Liverpool And 8/11 To Rejoin Newcastle

Andy Carroll is now 8/13 to leave Liverpool this summer and Newcastle have moved firmly to the top of the pile to be his next club. William Hill have made the Magpies odds-on to sign their former player at 8/11. Sam Allardyce has made no secret of his desire to sign Carroll and he is 7/2 to lure him to West Ham. Other teams in the running include Aston Villa and Fulham at 9/1 and AC Milan at 12/1.

“Newcastle appear ready to break their transfer record to get the man that they sold just 18 months ago and it is starting to look more and more likely that Andy Carroll is on his way,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Dimitar Berbatov has stated his assertion that he needs to be playing first team football and may have to move to get it. Malaga are the 7/4 favourites to sign him, although West Ham, are offered at 9/4 after they reportedly made an offer for the striker. Galatasaray have reportedly shown some interest in signing him, while AC Milan may look to replace Ibrahimovic with the mercurial United player. They are 5/1 and 8/1 respectively.

Charles N’zogbia: You Bet A Good Bit Of Business By Villa

Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Charles N’Zogbia from Wigan and William Hill think he will have a better season than the player he was brought in to replace, Stewart Downing. Hills go 8/11 that N’Zogbia starts more Premier League games than Downing, while Downing is 11/8 to start more than the Frenchman.

Hills also go 4/7 about N’Zogbia scoring more goals than Downing, who is 8/5.

“If reports are to be believed, Villa have made a profit of around £10 million by selling Downing and bringing in N’Zogbia and it appears that the new Clarets wide man may well be utilised more this season than the man that he has replaced,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Hills are offering a number of next club specials on some of the higher profile players being talked about in this summer’s transfer window. Real Madrid are the 4/6 favourites to be the next club to capture Neymar’s signature, while Arsenal are 1/3 to be Juan Mata’s next club. There has been plenty of speculation recently about Carlos Tevez and Hills offer 13/8 that Internazionale are his next club, while Juventus are 7/2.

Que? You Bet Manuel For United!

Manchester United are 4/9 to win against Schalke on Wednesday with William Hill. The German side are 7/1. Manchester United could have scored a hatful during last Tuesday’s clash but for Schalke’s Manuel Neuer and Hills offer 7/1 that the Reds score 4 or more goals. United had 10 shots on target last week and Hills offer 6/4 that they have more attempts than that during Wednesday’s game. Sir Alex Ferguson congratulated Neuer following his performance in Gelsenkirchen and he is 11/2 to start Manchester United’s first game next season between the sticks.

“Neuer reminded many of a young Peter Schmeichel, especially Sir Alex, for whom the resemblance has not gone unnoticed,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Red Devils Will Leave Bookies Feeling Blue

The FA Cup semi-finals kick off on Saturday as Man City play Man Utd and William Hill make the red side of the city 11/10 favourites to get through to the final. It would appear that the loss of Wayne Rooney for United is not as damaging as the loss of Carlos Tevez for City and Hills punters have been rushing in to back United, already resulting in a five figure loss. Hills favourites to reach the final are Manchester United and Bolton, offered at 17/10, while a Stoke/Manchester City final is the outsider at 7/2.

“Manchester United are firm favourites both with us and the punters and we are keeping our fingers firmly crossed for a City victory,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Rooney 25/1 For Golden Boot…chelsea Explode Back Into Title Reckoning

Wayne Rooney bagged a brace against Villa and William Hill are offering 25/1 that he can put his recent poor form behind him and end the season as the Premier League’s top scorer. United’s victory means that they are still unbeaten in the Premier League and Hills offer 7/1 that they can end the season without losing. Manchester United are the 4/7 favourites to win the Premier League, while Arsenal are 11/4. Chelsea are now priced at 13/2 having been as long as 12/1 just a couple of weeks ago.

“Chelsea have managed to find a bit of form in the last few games and coupled with the arrival of Torres seems to make Chelsea look like viable contenders once more,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Rooney will be looking to continue the form of tonight and should he do so, there is a chance that he could be challenging the big boys for the golden boot come the end of the season.”

Manchester City are 17/20 to keep up the pressure on the top two against Birmingham, while Tottenham are 13/10 to win away at Blackburn. Liverpool will be hoping that their recent resurgence will continue and are 6/10 to record a victory at home to Stoke. New boy David Suarez is 4/5 to score anytime for Liverpool on Wednesday, while he is 10/3 to open the scoring.
