Gb Living Dangerously As A Draw Will Do

Team GB square up against Uruguay on Wednesday night knowing that a draw will see them qualify from the Group. GB are the 6/4 slight favourites with William Hill. Underperforming Uruguay are 13/8 and the draw is 11/5.

Senegal are 10/11 favs to top Group A, GB an 11/10 chance to top the group and Uruguay the current outsiders at 5/1. Liverpool and Uruguay striker Luis Suarez is 6/1 to net first against GB and 7/4 any time, both prices shared by Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge. Highly rated Napoli forward Edinson Cavani has not had the best of tournaments so far but is 13/2 to turn that around with the opener on Wednesday. Gb captain Ryan Giggs is 12/1 to open the scoring again as he did against UAE.

“It is a difficult situation for team GB as they face a top side knowing a draw will be enough. Uruguay need to win so an entertaining affair should be on the cards as the South Americans will go looking for goals in their quest for gold,” said William Hill spokesman Mark Young.

The Come Beck Kid 7/2 To Fulfil Olympic Dream

Stuart Pearce may have not selected David Beckham for the 18 man Olympics football squad but he has hinted that he may well be on the stand by list. He is 7/2 with William Hill to play at the games.

If selected on the stand by list Beckham could only take the place of Ryan Giggs, Craig Bellamy or Micah Richards due to the restrictions of over age players. Golden Balls is 8/1 to score this summer and it is 14/1 that it is from a free kick. Even more remarkable would be if he captained the team. That is offered at 12/1 with Hills.

“Becks playing at the Olympics would be remarkable even to his own standards. It was a shock to see him omitted from the squad but would be even more shocking if he were to come back. No one wants to play for their country more than Beckham and it would be really good to see him represent Team GB this summer,” said William Hill spokesman Mark Young.

David Beckham Olympics Specials*

7/2: Beckham to play at the Olympics

8/1: Beckham to score at the Olympics

12/1: Beckham to be GB captain

14/1: Beckham to score a free kick at the Olympics

*All of the specials are ‘All in run or not,’ so no money back if Beckham doesn’t go to the Olympics

That’s Rich: Luka 9/4 To Turn Out For Big Spending United

News reports are suggesting that Manchester United are set to make a move for Spurs playmaker Luka Modric and William Hill are offering a market on who will start in midfield for the Reds on the first day of next season. Paul Scholes and new signing, Shinji Kagawa, are 4/7 with Ryan Giggs 8/11 to start. With Modric not confirmed as a Manchester United player yet, he is just 9/4 to take to the pitch in a United shirt on day one of the 2012/13 season.

“After just missing out on the title this season, United are aiming to come back with a bang and the signings of Kagawa and Modric certainly indicate their intentions right at the start of the summer,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

David Beckham, Craig Bellamy and Ryan Giggs are reportedly the three over 23 players named in Stuart Pearce’s Olympic squad and Hills now make David Beckham the 1/3 favourite to wear the armband in the first game. Bellamy is the 5/1 second favourite with Giggs 6/1.

“All three players have worn international armbands in the past and all three will be leaders on the pitch but it looks like Becks will lead the side out,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

To start for Manchester United next season:

1/3 Michael Carrick (9/4 not to)
4/7 Paul Scholes (5/4 not to)
4/7 Shinji Kagawa (5/4 not to)
8/11 Ryan Giggs (1/1 not to)
6/4 Tom Cleverley (1/2 not to)
6/4 Ji-Sung Park (1/2 not to)
9/4 Luka Modric (1/3 not to)
5/2 Darren Fletcher (2/7 not to)
9/2 Paul Pogba (1/8 not to)

Who will be Team GB in the first group game: 1/3 David Beckham; 5/1 Craig Bellamy; 6/1 Ryan Giggs

Summer Of Spending At City…who Will Take The Poisoned Chalice At Liverpool…becks And Giggs Back Together

Despite winning the Premier League this season, Manchester City are on the lookout for signings that will strengthen their team even further and William Hill think that Eden Hazard, despite rumours Chelsea are his favoured destination, will be at the top of their shopping list. The Belgian is 11/10 to move to Manchester City this summer, while Robin van Persie is 6/4, Falcao is 11/8, Thiago Silva 13/8 and both Luka Modric and Hulk 15/8. Of the two best players in the world, City are 4/1 to sign Ronaldo and 12/1 to sign Messi this summer.

“Manchester City are in a position to sign just about any player they want, although it does not appear that they will aim for the crème de la crème, instead opting for slightly more realistic options,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Ryan Giggs has stated that he would love to play alongside David Beckham in the Team GB football side and Hills offer 2/1 that the pair start the first match of the Olympics for Stuart Pearce’s men (8/15 one starts and 4/1 neither do).

Every manager worth their salt appears not to want the Liverpool job at the moment and William Hill think that Roberto Martinez is the main man for the job and are now offering 11/8 that he is named as the next permanent boss at Anfield with Andre Villas Boas at 11/4.

“Liverpool do not seem to have the draw that they once did, whether that is because the targets they are going for would prefer Champions league football or whether they are worried about having to fill Kenny’s boots is hard to say,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Who will Manchester City sign this summer:

11/10 Eden Hazard
6/4 RVP
11/8 Falcao
13/8 Thiago Silva
15/8 Modric
15/8 Hulk
7/4 De Rossi
9/4 Sneijder
5/2 Chiellini
11/4 Eriksen
11/4 Kaka
3/1 Ibrahimovic
4/1 Giuseppe Rossi
4/1 Pato
4/1 C. Ronaldo
9/2 Neymar
5/1 Pique
5/1 Lahm
5/1 Robben
6/1 Ribery
7/1 Drogba
8/1 Rooney
8/1 Tiote
10/1 Iniesta
12/1 Messi
16/1 Xavi

Beckham and Giggs (both, one or none) to start first Team GB Olympic Game: 2/1 both; 8/15 one; 4/1 neither

Next permanent Liverpool manager: 11/8 Roberto Martinez; 11/4 Andre Villas Boas; 9/1 Brendan Rodgers; 10/1 Rafael Benitez; 10/1 Fabio Capello; 12/1 Louis van Gaal; 12/1 Michael Laudrup; 12/1 Frank Rikjaard; 16/1 Didier Deschamps; 20/1 Harry Redknapp; 25/1 BAR

Giggs 20/1 To Reach Four Figures…liverpool 4/9 For Barren 2012/13…torres Troubles

Ryan Giggs celebrated his 900th Manchester United appearance by scoring a goal and William Hill offer 20/1 that he reaches 1000 appearances. “Ryan will have to play for at least another three years in order to reach the 1000 games mark although the way that he has been playing recently suggests that the evergreen Giggs could easily do that,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Liverpool 4/9 For Barren 2012/13

Liverpool lifted the first silverware of the season on Sunday, when they won the Carling Cup and William Hill are offering 2/1 that they win one trophy next season and 8/1 they win two or more. They are 4/9 to win no silverware in the 2012/13 season. “There have been many people talking about Arsenal’s barren seasons but Liverpool, until Sunday, had suffered a similar streak and winning the League Cup is unlikely to paper over the cracks and they will really have their work cut out in order to follow it up next season,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Liverpool are the 5/2 joint favourites to win the FA Cup with Spurs and are 10/3 to finish in the top four in the Premier League, undoubtedly a top target for Kenny Dalglish. Liverpool are 7/1 to win the League Cup next season.

Torres Troubles

Fernando Torres has been suffering in the goals department since joining Chelsea and he has finally been dropped from the Spain squad. Hills are offering 6/4 that he fails to go to Euro 2012 (1/2 to make it). Torres is 13/8 to have left Chelsea by the start of next season (4/9 to still be there).

Torres to make the Spain Euro 2012 squad
Yes – 1/2
No – 6/4

Torres to score at Euro 2012

Bets are losers if doesn’t make squad or doesn’t get playing minutes.

Torres to leave Chelsea by first game of 2012/13 season:
Yes – 13/8
No – 4/9

Liverpool Season 2012/13 Trophies
0 4/9

William Hill make the City boss 11/4 to have left his position by the start of next season. Jose Mourinho could well be the replacement at the Etihad as he is the 13/8 favourite to be the next City manager.

CITY’S HOPES OF GOAL SCORING RECORD ON THE WANE
William Hill have lengthened their odds for Manchester City to set a new scoring record in the Premier League by netting 104 or more goals during the season and now go 6/4 from 5/6 and make them 1/2 to miss out on the record.

“The early season goal rush seems to have dried up somewhat in recent games”, said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
WILLIAM HILL, who now make Man City 7/1 to remain undefeated for the remainder of the Premier League season, offer 5/6 that they will win the title with their great local rivals United as runners up. ‘Spurs’ slip up at the weekend and City beating Wigan has handed the advantage to the two Manchester clubs’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
City are now 1/2 favourites to win the title with Hills who go 5/2 United; 10 Spurs; 25 Chelsea; 80 Arsenal.
