Big Boys Beware Of Carling Cupsets

The Carling Cup third round kicks off this week with a number of tasty ties taking place over Tuesday and Wednesday. With the giant killing nature of the competition, William Hill are offering 7/4 that a non Premier League side gets to the final and 6/1 that there is a non Premier League winner of the competition. With a maximum of 11 Premier League clubs able to progress through to the next round, Hills offer 7/2 that there are eleven Premier League sides in the hat for the fourth round. An all Premier League final is offered at 2/5.

“There will undoubtedly be a few lower league clubs that will fancy their chances against the second string sides of the big boys and there is the potential for an upset or two,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly
