Euros Group A: Punters Have Made Their Minds Up Already

2004 winners of the Euros, Greece are 10/3 to qualify for the knockout stages of the event with Russsia (1/10) and Czech Republic (4/5) the two favourites to make it through. Greece will have to defeat Russia and are 4/1 to do so, while also hoping for a draw in the Poland/Czech Republic game – offered at 9/4.

Punters do not hold out much hope for the Greeks, however, with Russia backed, at this early stage, to the tune of over 90% of all bets staked on the match. Russia represent one of Hill’s biggest liabilities to win the tournament as well, with a six figure sum to be paid out if they manage to upset the pre tournament odds of 20/1.

“Going into the final round of games in Group A, there is still so much to play for, but our punters certainly seem to have made their minds up already,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Poland have also been very well backed by punters ahead of their game against Czech Republic, with 82% of all early bets staked on them to win.

Group A

4/1 Greece; 8/11 Russia; 5/2 Draw
23/10 Czech Republic; 5/4 Poland; 9/4 Draw

Winner: 3/10 Russia; 4/1 Czech Republic; 7/1 Poland; 33/1 Greece

To qualify (not to): 1/10 Russia (11/2); 4/5 Czech Republic (10/11); 11/10 Poland (4/6); 10/3 Greece (1/5)

Betting On Barton Ban

HOW LONG WILL BARTON BAN BE?

WILLIAM HILL have opened a book on the length of Joey Barton’s ban – and make him 5/6 to serve over 7.5 games, and 5/6 under 7.5 games. Barton is 4/6 NOT to be at QPR on day one of next season, 11/10 still to be there. ‘Barton has entered uncharted waters with his behaviour and his ban could set new records’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

MANCHESTER CITY are 11/8 favourites with Hills to win the Premier League title again next season – and quote them at 200/1 to win the Quadruple.

TO WIN NEXT SEASON’S PREM TITLE….11/8 Man C; 11/4 Man U; 4/1 Chelsea; 6/1 Arsenal; 25/1 Spurs; 33/1 Liverpool; 125/1 Newcastle. Others on request.

BOLTON are 10/1 to win the Championship; 5/2 to be promoted, 20/1 to go down again next season.

William Hill have opened a book on how they or United will land the title – and make City 8/15 to win on goal difference, and 7/2 to win by two points. ‘City won’t really care how they win the title, but there are plenty of potential outcomes for punters to speculate on’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Hills also offer 4/1 that 31 or more will be scored, 1/ 4 that 29 or fewer will hit the back of the net. ‘Goals seem to have been plentiful – and often spectacular this season and it would be fitting for the record to be broken on the final day’
