Bent Could Be Straight On The Plane To Poland

Darren Bent has provided Roy Hodgson with a boost, with the news that he could be back and playing in time for the European Championships and William Hill have cut the odds of him being called up to the squad from 4/1 to 7/2. He is 1/6 to be left at home.

“Darren Bent’s absence has been obvious as Villa have slumped down the table without his goals,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “England could find themselves in a similar situation without Wayne Rooney and Bent’s quality could be much needed.”

West Ham just missed out on automatic promotion to the Premier League and they are 13/8 favourites to win the Championship playoffs at Hills who go 5/2 Birmingham; 10/3 Blackpool and 10/3 Cardiff. It could be argued that West Ham should have been promoted easily and Hills offer 14/1 that West Ham go up and Sam Allardyce leaves the club before the start of the season.

Chester Train Shop Punter Choo Choo Chooses 15 Winners And Bags Over £20k

A man in his mid forties has scooped a massive payout after he breezed into the William Hill shop at Chester train station and placed a £3, 15 team football accumulator. The man, who spoke with a Southern accent, told the girl working behind the counter that he was off on holiday on Easter Sunday with some of his winnings leaving it unknown as to whether he lived in Chester or just visiting the city for the day.

From his £3 stake, the lucky punter bagged himself £20,343.96, beating odds of over 6780/1 to land his massive payout.

“It is hard enough to pick one winner so for him to get 15 is absolutely incredible,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “When he collected his winnings on Saturday evening, he told the assistant that he had decided that he was going to go on holiday for a week and mull over what else he was going to spend his winnings on.”

The games that were played over Good Friday and the following Saturday included Celtic who won the SPL title by defeating Kilmarnock 6-0, Chelsea who defeated Wigan with two contentious goals and virtually the last kick of the game and Reading, who moved top of the Championship by beating 10 man Leeds with two goals in the last six minutes of the match.

The shop in the train station has been open for two years and is the first betting shop in Chester that punters get to when they arrive for the yearly race meetings that start in May.

Mancini Magic Lost Its Shine – Evens To Have Left By Next Season

Reports have today suggested that Manchester City’s recent downturn in form could result in the loss of Roberto Mancini’s job. William Hill make the Italian Even money to have departed City by the start of next season (8/11 to still be there). You Bet Olympic Saga Could Be Sorted Soon…

West Ham are allegedly growing frustrated with the lack of movement on the Olympic Stadium front. William Hill think that any problems should be sorted out by 2015, offering 2/7 that any team (in any professional division) is playing or has played a full season of home league matches at the Olympic Stadium by 2015.

“The Olympic Stadium saga has been running for quite a while now, but we think that once the Olympics are out of the way, the Stadium issue will become number one priority and should be sorted relatively quickly,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly
