Man City Backed To Win Record Breaking 2012/13 Season

The new Premier League season is just around the corner and William Hill make Manchester City the 6/5 favourites to lift the trophy and Hill’s punters agree. City are the second best backed side with only Liverpool attracting more money – largely down to the fact that one punter has staked £22,000 e/w on the Reds winning the Premier league. For the first time in Premier League history, punters are mostly staying away from Manchester United who are the 5/2 second favourites for the trophy.

At the other end of the table, the three new sides will be hoping to emulate the success of Swansea, Norwich and QPR and Hills offer 3/1 that Southampton, Reading and West Ham follow suit.

“Success for the newly promoted sides will always be based on whether they survive or not and we think there is a very good chance that they will all survive this time around,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

This year could well be a record breaker and William Hill offer 20/1 about any player bagging a double hat-trick and the same price that any team scores 10 or more goals in a single game. However, some things never change and 11/4 is offered that any opposition side wins a penalty at Old Trafford.

Discipline will be at the forefront of everybody’s mind after Branislav Ivanovic’s red card in the Community Shield and William Hill offer 6/1 that QPR are the side that sees the most reds while their manager Mark Hughes is 9/1 favourite to be the first manager to be sent to the stands.

KUYT FLYING FROM LIVERPOOL?
Dirk Kuyt could be one of a number of high profile casualties at Liverpool this summer, with William Hill offering 5/4 that he has left the club by the start of next season. Another who could be on his way is Maxi Rodriguez, who is Even money to have gone in the same time frame. The good news for Liverpool, however, is that Suarez, Gerrard and Reina all look like they will be staying, with Hills making them 1/4, 1/16 and 1/12 respectively to still be at Anfield. ‘Kuyt is popular at Liverpool but he could be amongst the players most likely to leave the club before the start of next season’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Share.

BENT INTO SHAPE?
DARREN BENT is optimistic that he can regain fitness in time to be part of the Euro squad but William Hill are less confident and offer 4/1 that he will be included in the final squad. ‘With the current shortage of reliable English forwards, other than Rooney, Bent will have a great chance of being included if he can overcome his serious injury in time’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hills – Darren Bent to be in the Euro squad? 4/1 yes; 1/7 no

LAWRIE BETTING ON LADY BOSSES
Lawrie Sanchez has claimed that he can envisage a female manager taking charge of a Premier League club within the next ten years, but Hills disagree, offering 100/1 that a female is in the Premier League within the next decade. It is 33/1 for a female manager to be in the Football League within the next 5 years. ‘Apparently Sanchez has bet a pal that there will be a female Premier League boss within ten years – I hope he got decent odds as we’re prepared to offer 100/1about it happening!’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

5/1 Title Is Decided On Goal Difference…9/4 Van Persie Breaks 18 Year Old Record

WEDNESDAY PREMIER LEAGUE SPECIALS

Alex Ferguson has claimed that the Premier League title could go down to the wire with goal difference possibly being a deciding factor. William Hill offer 5/1 that the destination of the Premier League trophy is decided this way. Should that be the case, Hills think that United have the edge, offering 4/7 that they end the season with a more superior goal difference than their Manchester rivals (5/4 vice versa). Hills go 3/1 that the title is decided after the result of the Manchester Derby on the 30th April.

“This could be one of the closest title run ins yet, made all the more exciting by the fact that it is City against United,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “It is looking more and more likely that the Derby on 30th April could be the most important in recent memory.”

Robin van Persie could add to his impressive tally by bagging a goal or two on Wednesday evening against Everton and William Hill are offering 9/4 that he breaks the all time individual Premier League record goal tally of 34. He is 5/2 to outscore the entire Everton team during their match on Wednesday.

WILLIAM HILL are offering 4/1 that pre-match handshakes will be scrapped officially in Premier League matches before the start of next season.
‘Following the latest pre-match handshake debacle there will be pressure to scrap them completely’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe. Hills are 1/7 that they remain an official part of pre-match proceedings next season.
Hills had offered 1/5 that Evra and Suarez WOULD shake hands, and 10/3 that they would not. ‘Punters called the pre-match handshake wrong on this occasion’ said Sharpe.
After Rio Ferdinand refused to shake hands with Suarez, Hills are offering 11/4 that he and John Terry will NOT start in the same Euro 12 side for England.
