Hills had offered 1/5 that Evra and Suarez WOULD shake hands, and 10/3 that they would not. ‘Punters called the pre-match handshake wrong on this occasion’ said Sharpe.

Lucky Weekend For William Hill Football Punters

There will have been one very nervous William Hill punter watching as Newcastle defeated Stoke on Monday evening and landed a £25,000 accumulator. The 44 year old from Margate was hoping for a Newcastle win at 5/2 in order to bring home a 12 team accumulator staked on William Hill online. All of the other selections came in on Saturday and included Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Rangers.

“This punter, who only ever bets between one and ten pounds each weekend on the football will have had his nerves calmed as Demba Ba smashed home a hat-trick to land £24,953.77 from just a five pound stake,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

It seems that the football luck was contagious this weekend as two other punters landed big money accumulators from relatively small stakes. One shop punter from the Romford area bagged £20,592.23 from a £3 accumulator while a shop punter from central Glasgow landed a seven team, £5 accumulator that paid out £11,535.33.

“We have had three winners this weekend winning life changing sums of money,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Championship Sack Race Hots Up: Sven Odds On To Go Before Mclaren

With the Championship season set to kick off this weekend, Hills are offering a brand new market on the Manager Sack Race. The Championship is home to a number of high profile managers this year and the market is expected to be incredibly competitive with Coventry manager, Andy Thorn, the 6/1 favourite to be the first manager to leave his club. Keith Millen and Sean Dyche round off the top three at 7/1. With two former England managers plying their trade in the division, Hills offer 14/1 that Steve McLaren is the first manager to go, while Sven Goran Eriksson is 16/1 although Sven is 8/11 to be out of a job before the Wally with the Brolly.

“This year’s Championship is expected to be one of the closest ever with a number of high profile managers in charge of high profile clubs. Not all of them will be able to live up to expectations and the managers’ sack race could potentially be quite a volatile market,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Hill’s Football Fans Feast On Fantastic Pre Season Odds

The football league season kicks off this weekend after a long summer break and William Hill’s football punters are chomping at the bit with Leicester (5/1), Charlton (9/1) and Crawley (10/3) all proving popular to win their respective divisions. Hills have seen a bet of £20,000 on Manchester United (2/1) and a £10,000 bet on Liverpool at (12/1) are both very popular while a sizeable five figure bet has been taken on Swindon to win League 2 and a £3,000 bet on Leicester to win the Championship.
“We have gone top price on almost all of the 92 clubs in English football and our customers are really getting involved in their pre-season punting,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Despite this, we are determined to hold on to our prices for as long as possible and we are racking up massive liabilities in an attempt to give our customers what they want.”

With a full weekend’s worth of Championship fixtures, Hills are offering a number of match specials and make the match between Peterborough and Crystal Palace the 11/2 favourite to be the top scoring match and are offering 12/1 about Burnley being the fastest scoring side with the same price offered for Nottingham Forest, Peterborough, Brighton and West Ham to be so. 15/8 is offered about there being two red cards this weekend, while 9/4 is available for one and 11/2 four or more.
