4/1 All Manchester Carling Cup Final

Manchester United are the 15/8 favourites to win this year’s Carling Cup, ahead of Manchester City at 3/1. With the two Manchester sides hogging the top two spots in the Premier League, the pair are 4/1 to meet in the final of the Cup. With two non-Premier League sides still in the competition, they are understandably outsiders to win with Cardiff 16/1 and Crystal Palace 66/1.

“Manchester United and City have been on top form this season and it is feasible to envisage the pair meeting in the Final,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Arguably the stand out tie of the Quarter Finals is the Arsenal Manchester City match and Hills make City 8/13 to qualify for the Semis, with Arsenal 6/5.

Quarter Finals – Who Will Qualify:
6/5 Arsenal; 8/13 Manchester City
1/2 Chelsea; 6/4 Liverpool
1/16 Manchester United; 7/1 Crystal Palace
5/6 Cardiff; 5/6 Blackburn

Carling Cup Outright: 15/8 Manchester United; 3/1 Manchester City; 9/2 Chelsea; 6/1 Liverpool; 7/1 Arsenal; 12/1 Blackburn; 16/1 Cardiff; 66/1 Crystal Palace

£2.5k Says O’neill Is Going Back To Leicester

William Hill have slashed the odds of Martin O’Neill becoming the next manager of Leicester following a Liverpool punter backing him to get the gig to the tune of £2500. O’Neill is far and away the most likely candidate to get the job with Hills making him 1/4 from 2/5. His next closest rival in the betting is Mark Hughes at 3/1.

“Almost all of the early money has been for O’Neill to return to his spiritual home and this bet has been the culmination of a 24 hour mega gamble,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Leicester Next Boss: 1/4 Martin O’Neill; 3/1 Mark Hughes; 8/1 Lee Clark; 9/1 Rafael Benitez; 10/1 Billy Davies; 20/1 Roy Keane; 20/1 Simon Grayson; 20/1 Mark Robins; 20/1 Ole Gunnar Solksjaer; 20/1 Ian Holloway; 20/1 Dave Jones; 20/1 Alan Shearer; 20/1 Avram Grant; 20/1 Gianfranco Zola; 20/1 Carlo Ancelotti; 20/1 Alan Curbishley; 20/1 Didier Deschamps; 20/1 Nigel Worthington; 25/1 BAR

Wednesday Carling Cup…20/1 Sven To Follow In Nancy’s Footsteps

Sven Goran Eriksson is currently looking for a job following his release from Leicester and William Hill are offering 2/1 that he manages any International side, while he is 6/1 to make a return to the Premier League. Sven arguably had most success in Italy and he is 6/1 to return. Having seen the relative ‘success’ of Nancy Del’Olio on Strictly Come Dancing, Hills offer 20/1 that he takes part in Strictly 2012.

“There will be no lack of interest from sides all around the world hoping to secure Sven’s services although he may decide to have a change of scenery in his next endeavours,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Martin O’Neill is the 2/5 favourite to replace Sven at the Walkers although there has been a fair amount of support for Rafael Benitez who has been backed in from 25/1 to 9/1.

With four Carling Cup matches taking place on Wednesday, Hills make Manchester City 15/8 to follow up their thrashing of United by being the highest scoring team.

Where Will Sven Go Next: 2/1 International team; 6/1 Premier League Team; 6/1 Italian Team; 10/1 Spanish Team; 14/1 Championship Team; 6/4 Any Other Team

YOU BET IT IS BEGINNING OF END FOR FERGIE’S REIGN

WILLIAM HILL have cut their odds for Sir Alex Ferguson to have left Manchester United by the first day of the next Premier League season from 5/1 to 7/2 following their thrashing by Manchester City. ‘Fergie may just have seen a glimpse of what the future holds if he remains in his job, and the thought of playing second fiddle to City may just prove too much for him before next season gets underway’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hills do, though, still make him odds on, at 1/5 still to be in charge when 2012/13 begins.

TEN WILLIAM HILL CLIENTS BET ON A 1-6 WIN FOR MAN CITY, AT ODDS OF 500/1 – THE BIGGEST STAKE WAS JUST £3, MAKING A PROFIT OF £1500. Hills offer 500/1 that United will win the return fixture 1-6……..100/1 that City win 6-1 again.
