JOL-Y GOOD TIMING FOR MARTIN TO ROVE TO BLACKBURN?

WILLIAM HILL report early backing for Martin Jol from 10/1 to 4/1 favourite to succeed Sam Allardyce at Blackburn, following Hill’s hammering by punters who appeared to have got early knowledge of Allardyce’s imminent departure: ‘We saw a sustained gamble on Big Sam to depart from mid afternoon at which point he was a 33/1 shot to be the next boss to go. We saw bets of up to £500 a time and the largest concentration of bets was placed by punters from and in and around the South West London area.’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe. ‘Big Sam had been backed down to Evens to be the next manager to depart minutes before it was confirmed he had gone. It is too much of a coincidence for that to have been a genuinely inspired gamble – but that’s the risk you take by pricing up markets of this nature and despite a hefty five figure thumping we’re coming back for more by making Avram Grant odds-on favourite to be the NEXT to go’
