Spurs and Chelsea both claimed vital wins in their bids to claim the final Champions League spot in the Premier League, while at the same time preventing Blackburn and QPR from getting wins that would see them inch closer to safety. William Hill now make Blackburn … to be relegated this season, while QPR are … QPRs defeat by five goals means that they are only five ahead of Bolton on goal difference and Hills offer 5/2 that any side are relegated on goal difference alone.
As tight as it is at the top, it is also just as tight for that final relegation spot, said Hills spokesman Joe Crilly. It may well just go down to goal difference.
Chelseas appearance in the Champions League Final means that fourth place may not necessarily earn a Champions League spot although Hills offer 6/4 that Tottenham grab fourth and play in the Champions League next season, while Arsenal are 11/2 to do so, Newcastle 7/1 and Chelsea 5/4.
To finish 4th place and play in next seasons champions league:
Arsenal 11/2
Chelsea 5/4
Tottenham 6/4
Newcastle 7/1
Premier League relegation: 1/66 Blackburn; 8/13 QPR; 5/4 Bolton; 16/1 Aston Villa; 20/1 Wigan
To stay up: 1/100 Wigan; 1/150 Aston Villa; 4/7 Bolton; 6/5 QPR; 14/1 Blackburn
Top four finish: 1/12 Arsenal; 8/11 Tottenham; 6/5 Chelsea; 9/2 Newcastle
