City Start Shows Promise As Aguero Slashed For Golden Boot

Manchester City showed their obvious class when upstaging Swansea on their return to the big time, to record the only home win of the opening week of the Premier League. New boy Sergio Aguero, scored two and set up one on his City debut and William Hill are offering 4/1 that he bags the golden boot during his first season in Premier League football. Manchester City are 10/3 to win the Premier League this season but are still behind Manchester United and Chelsea at 6/5 and 3/1 respectively. Hills offer 10/3 about a United/City 1-2, while a City/United forecast is 11/2.

“After just one game, the league is looking ominous for teams around the country as the North West occupy the top three,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Realistically, there will only be two of those sides there at the end of the season but on the weekend’s form, the Manchester sides will take some shifting from their lofty perch.”

Despite performing well in the first half, Swansea faded in the second and succumbed to a big defeat and they are Hill’s favourites, at 8/15 to be relegated. Swansea are 13/8 to be the last of the promoted sides to register a Premier League win. Norwich are 6/4 and QPR are 7/4. All three promoted sides are 4/1 to be relegated. Swansea are 11/10 to win their next game against Wigan and 3/1 to record their first Premier League win against Sunderland. They are 11/4 to fail to win within the next five games.

New Boys Turned Over As Aguero Becomes Favourite For Golden Boot

Manchester City gave Swansea City a harsh lesson in efficiency winning with new boy, Sergio Aguero netting two. William Hill make him 4/1 favourite (from 12/1) to win the Premier League’s golden boot. Swansea on the other hand completed the hat trick of the promoted sides failing to win their opening games and William Hill make Swansea 13/8 to be the last of the promoted sides to register a win. Norwich are 6/4 and QPR are 7/4. Swansea are 11/10 to win their next game against Wigan and 3/1 to record their first Premier League win against Sunderland. They are 11/4 to fail to win within the next five games.

“Aguero was absolutely fantastic on his debut and looks as though he will make an immediate impact on the Premier League,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Swansea, on the other hand, were given the runaround by Mancini’s men and will have to look to Wigan next week for improvement.”

Argie Bargie At City: You Bet One Argentine Out And One In

With Carlos Tevez seemingly on his way out of Manchester City, William Hill have opened a market on who will come in to replace him, making Sergio Aguero their 1/2 favourite. Second favourite is Napoli playmaker Marek Hamsik at 5/1 with Samuela Eto’o, Giuseppe Rossi and Karim Benzema all offered at 6/1. Wayne Rooney is a 100/1 outsider.

“Tevez was in such sparkling form last season that he will be very hard to replace, but money is not an option for Manchester City and we fully expect them to splash the cash in order to find the best possible replacement,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Tevez’s goals were vital into propelling Manchester City into third place in the Premier League last season and Hills offer 4/7 that no player scores more than the 20 that he racked up last season. Of the players still at City, Hills make Balotelli 15/8 favourite to be the club’s leading scorer next season, although 7/4 is on offer for any player not currently there (or not a striker) to lead the scoring charts.

William Hill Manchester City Odds:

Who Will Be Manchester City’s Next Signing*: 1/2 Sergio Aguero; 5/1 Marek Hamsik; 6/1 Samuel Eto’o; 6/1 Giuseppe Rossi; 6/1 Karim Benzema; 9/1 Didier Drogba; 9/1 Pato; 10/1 Neymar; 10/1 Hulk; 12/1 Romelu Lukaku; 16/1 Falcao; 16/1 David Villa; 100/1 Wayne Rooney

Women’s World Cup: Lionesses Need To Find Their Roar Against Japan

England’ Women take on Japan in their final group game of the Women’s World Cup and bookmakers, William Hill, are offering odds of 2/1 that they are victorious. Japan are 6/5 while the draw is 2/1. Kelly Smith is dubbed as the Wayne Rooney of the England Women’s team, but much like her Manchester United counterpart, she has flattered to deceive on the world stage and Hill’s now offer 4/7 that she fails to score during the competition. She is 4/1 joint second favourite to be England’s highest goalscorer in the tournament.

“At the start of the tournament, much was expected of England and Kelly Smith, but Smith has failed to find the net and England have struggled as a result,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

England’s Women are 33/1 to win the competition while their opponents, Japan are the 14/1 joint fourth favourites. A victory for England would see them top their group and they are 2/1 to do so, while Japan, by avoiding defeat, would emerge as Group B winners offered at 4/11.

On the lighter side of the tournament, Equatorial Guinea managed to get away with the most blatant of handballs but Hills do not think that they will be too lucky next time with Hills offering 10/1 that they concede a penalty for handball during their match against Brazil on Wednesday.

William Hill Women’s Wold Cup Odds:

Top English Goalscorer: 9/4 Fara Williams; 4/1 Jill Scott; 4/1 Kelly Smith; 4/1Jess Clarke; 8/1 Ellen White; 9/1 Elioa Aluko; 11/1 Karen Carney…others on request

Punters Go Barmy Backing Wayne’s Barnet!

William Hill have slashed the price of Wayne Rooney gelling up his barnet a la Ronaldo for Christmas from an original 2/1 to 3/1 second favourite. Of the outsiders the Beardsley Pudding bowl at 33/1 and the 50/1 Fellaini Perm have been popular but the Jedward is friendless at 100/1.

“Rooney has a great opportunity to ingratiate himself with fans and show us all that he has a sense of humor. We can see him supporting a number of comedy haircuts over the season but the Jedward is perhaps a joke too far and has failed to attract a single bet!,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.

What Will Wayne Rooney’s Hair Style During Boxing Day Fixture 2011: 1/1 Buzz Cut ‘Beckham’, 3/1 Gelled up like ‘Ronaldo’, 5/1 Dyed Hair ‘Cisse’, 5/1 Parting ‘Parker’, 6/1 Alice Band ‘Torres’, 10/1 Bald ‘Kojak’, 25/1 Pont Tail ‘David Seaman, 25/1 Mullet ‘Glen Hoddle’, 25/1 Red Stripe ‘Pietersen’, 33/1 Pudding Bowl ‘Beardsley’, 50/1 Perm ‘Fellaini, 66/1 Mohican ‘B A Baracus’, 100/1 a Jedward

They are 7/4 to score between 19 and 21 goals and 9/2 to score 22 or more goals. Hills think that Group G is going to be incredibly tight and offer 7/4 that England win the group with games to spare, but 2/5 that they do not.

“Parker and Wilshere impressed against Wales and it looks as they will be rewarded by starting on Saturday. Lampard also looks like he will start alongside the pair as Capello seeks to use the 4-3-3 that has proved effective in recent matches,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

England are 2/5 to win the match at Wembley with Switzerland 6/1. The draw is priced at 14/5. Hills also offer 3/1 that any England substitute scores a goal. Darren Bent is the 10/3 favourite to open the scoring on Saturday, with Peter Crouch 9/2, joint second favourite with Bobby Zamora.

They are 16/1 to win either the FA or League Cup under Big Sam and 20/1 to qualify for Europe.
