In the last 24 hours, William Hill have seen a heavy gamble (including one bet of £2000) in the London area for Russia’s 2018 World Cup Bid and have subsequently slashed their odds from Even money to 4/6. This has pushed England’s odds out to 9/4 and Portugal and Spain’s bid is priced at 3/1. It is a long way since England were the massive odds on favourites a month ago and it now seems as if Russia have the upper hand with a decision imminent on Tuesday.

“As opposed to England, Russia seems to be attracting money at the right time and with decision day getting ever closer, it seems as if there is only one winner,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
