Swansea Gunning For Bergkamp…20/1 In To Evens For Job

Dennis Bergkamp has emerged today as the frontrunner for the Swansea manager’s job with William Hill seeing him backed in from 20/1 to Evens. Former favourite, Graeme Jones has drifted from 1/6 (on Friday) to 4/1 joint second favourite with Michael Laudrup.

“Bergkamp has come from nowhere to become our favourite but it has to be said that his Arsenal ethos would suit Swansea well ,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “We actually suspended betting on Saturday and Sunday because we thought that Jones had got the job, but it looks like we are back to square one.”

Next Permanent Swansea manager: 1/1 Dennis Bergkamp; 4/1 Graeme Jones; 4/1 Michael Laudrup; 6/1 Ian Holloway; 7/1 Gus Poyet; 8/1 Marcel Desailly; 16/1 BAR

Will Swan Have Liverpool Singing Songs? 1/2 To Finish Higher Than Last Season.

Liverpool’s long and protracted search for a manager finally came to an end as Brendan Rodgers was named as Kenny Dalglish’s successor and William Hill think that he will fare better than Roy Hodgson by at least finishing a season, offered at 1/4 (11/4 he is given the chop before then). At least he does not have too much to better as Liverpool slumped to eighth position and Hills offer 1/2 that they finish seventh or better. He is 12/1 to win the LMA Manager of the Year.

“Rodgers found a winning formula while in South Wales and it could be argued that he has better players at his disposal,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Liverpool fans could be forgiven for getting excited about this appointment.”

Rodgers and his Swansea side last season defied pre-season predictions that they would be relegated and did so with a formula of patient, passing build up and Hills have opened a market on some of his former players joining him at Anfield. Gylfi Sigurdsson is 9/4 to join the Reds, while Scott Sinclair is 7/2. Leon Brtton and Ashley Williams are both 6/1 and Danny Graham is 7/1.

Rodgers will leave a very big hole in South Wales and William Hill make Ian Holloway the Even money favourite to replace him with Gus Poyet 2/1.

Paul Lambert looks like he could be on his way out of Carrow Road although the fact that his resignation has been rejected has muddied the waters somewhat. As things stand, Chris Hughton is the 5/4 favourite with Malky Mackay 2/1 and Steve Bruce 7/2.

Brendan Rodgers to last the season: 1/4 yes; 11/4 no

Will Liverpool finish higher or lower than they did in 2011/12: 1/2 finish higher; 13/8 finish lower; 8/1 finish eighth

Who will sign for Liverpool:
G. Sigurdsson: 1/3 no; 9/4 yes
S. Sinclair: 1/6 no; 7/2 yes
L. Britton: 1/12 no; 6/1 yes
A. Williams: 1/12 no; 6/1 yes
D. Graham: 1/16 no; 7/1 yes

Next permanent Swansea manager: 1/1 Ian Holloway; 2/1 Gus Poyet; 5/1 Dave Jones; 12/1 Alan Curbishley; 14/1 Chris Hughton; 14/1 Colin Pascoe; 14/1 Lee Clark; 16/1 Ole Gunnar Solskjaer; 16/1 Michael Laudrup; 16/1 Roberto Martinez; 16/1 Steve Bruce; 16/1 Alan Curtis; 20/1 BAR

Next permanent Norwich manager: 5/4 Chris Hughton; 2/1 Malky Mackay; 7/2 Steve Bruce; 10/1 Alan Curbishley; 10/1 Ian Culverhouse; 11/1 Gus Poyet; 11/1 Roberto Martinez; 11/1 Lee Clark; 12/1 Ole Gunnar Solksjaer; 14/1 Gianfranco Zola; 14/1 Ian Holloway; 16/1 Mick McCarthy; 20/1 BAR

Shear Relief As Big Al Cardiff Gamble Goes Astray

SHEAR RELIEF FOR BOOKIES AS ALAN TURNS DOWN CARDIFF

AFTER A hefty gamble encompassing a stream of bets from Ireland to Australia, bookmakers William Hill were relieved as Alan Shearer decided against taking the Cardiff job, having been backed down from 10/1 to 1/8 to be appointed.
‘It appears this was a very well informed gamble – with an ill informed outcome!’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe. ‘Shearer was backed off the boards as big money came in for him, starting in Cork, moving to south west London and finally becoming international as we saw a four figure Australian gamble – it looked like we’d been set up for a fall, but we are relieved to have dodged the financial bullet’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Shearer is now 10/1 with Hills to get the Birimingham job.

William Hill now make Malky Mackay 8/11 favourite to become the next Cardiff manager with Mark Robins 5/1; Chris Hughton 7/1 and Alan Shearer 8/1 -‘a precautionary price should one or other side change its mind!’ – 10/1 Billy Davies; 12/1 Ian Holloway.

Hills…NEXT VILLA BOSS…1/6 McLeish; 9/2 Hughes; 10/1 Moyes; 20 Coyle; Poyet; Rijkaard.

HILL… NEXT BIRMINGHAM BOSS….2/1 Hughton; Cotterill; 7/2 Davies; 4/1 Di Matteo; 6/1 Zola.10/1 Shearer.

Wl Corks Be Popping For Shearer ?

WILL SHEARER BE POPPING CORKS TO CELEBRATE CARDIFF JOB?

A GAMBLE which began in Cork has catapulted Alan Shearer into the position of second favourite to become the next Cardiff manager with bookmakers William Hill who have slashed his odds from 10/1 to 6/4.
‘We began to see bets for Shearer on Monday night and soon noticed that almost all of them – and they were for up to 200 euros a time- were coming from the Cork area. We reduced the odds but the bets continued to come in and eventually we began to see money from other areas. The gamble has continued on Tuesday morning and we wouldn’t be surprised to see Shearer become favourite over Malky Mackay very shortly’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
