Carroll Cut For Kop-chop…borini Backed To Rejoin Brendan

Brendan Rodgers wants to stamp his mark on the Liverpool squad and William Hill are now betting on which players will come and which ones will go. With a bid for Fabio Borini confirmed by Roma, the Italian is 2/7 to move to Anfield before the end of the transfer window. Another name who has been widely mooted with a move to Liverpool is that of Clint Dempsey and he is 5/4 to join the Rodgers Revolution. Other potential signings include Gaston Ramirez at 6/4, Matt Jarvis at 9/2, Scott Sinclair at 4/1 with Darren Bent and Mark Davies at 6/1 each.

On the other side of the coin, there could be a couple of players on the move, with Andy Carroll perhaps the highest profile of the lot. William Hill have cut him slightly from 4/1 to 11/4 to go, with AC Milan 6/1 to have signed him by September 1st. Alberto Aquilani has enjoyed two successful years in Italy whilst being on loan from Liverpool and he is 8/15 to leave Liverpool by the close of the transfer window. Joe Cole is 2/1, Martin Skrtl 5/1 and Charlie Adam 11/4.

“Rodgers has claimed that everyone will have the chance to prove themselves but the long ball to Andy Carroll will undoubtedly be banished to the annals of Anfield history and that could mean the man himself may also become redundant,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

LA LIGA: NEW FACES BUT RIVALRIES STILL THE SAME?
With the announcement of the Spanish La Liga fixtures today, Hills make champions Real Madrid the 4/5 favourites to regain the title. They meet Valencia in their opening match but their games against Barcelona in October and March will provoke the most betting interest. William Hill offer 5/1 that Barcelona pick up six points from the two encounters, 6/1 that Real Madrid do so and 7/4 that the two teams pick up three points each.

Messi is 4/5 to score more goals than Ronaldo, while Ronaldo is offered at 10/11 to outscore Messi. Ronaldo to be top goal scorer and Real Madrid to win La Liga is 9/4 with Hills whilst the same bet with Messi and Barcelona is offered at 11/4.

You Bet Giggs And Beckham Will Be Rolling Back The Years This Summer

Craig Bellamy has let slip that he is reportedly one of the over 23 players who is being included in Stuart Pearce’s Team GB side. William Hill are now speculating who the others will be, making David Beckham and Ryan Giggs the two favourites. Other names believed to be under consideration are Joe Cole (9/4), Steven Fletcher (6/1) and Chris Brunt (4/1).

“With a combined age of 75, it will take an Olympian effort for Giggs and Beckham to play every minute of every game in London this summer,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “But you don’t win gold medals with just effort and there is no doubting that the pair could well make the difference in London.”

Craig Bellamy is 100/1 to win this year’s Sports Personality of the Year.

To be in the GB Olympic squad:

Beckham: 1/6 yes; 7/2 no
Giggs: 4/7 yes; 5/4 no

William Hill have reopened betting on the next Premier League footballer to be arrested following the news that Ashley Cole is likely to escape punishment for his air-rifle shenanigans. John Terry is the 10/1 third favourite.

“Ashley has been off the front pages for quite a while now but recent revelations have seen him return with a flourish. The odds suggest that Cole could become quite the rogue over the next few months ,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
