FRANK LAMPARD captained 10 man Chelsea to the Champions League Final against Barcelona and William Hill make him 14/1 to wear the armband for England’s first game of the European Championships. However, Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker are the 5/4 joint favourites for the captaincy.

Harry Redknapp is the 1/4 red hot favourite to be named as the next permanent England manager but it is less clear when the FA will announce the appointment of their chosen man. CHELSEA are up against it in their Champions League semi final with William Hill making the home side 4/1 to win the match and Barcelona odds on at 8/11 to return to the Nou Camp with the advantage. “Punters are backing Barcelona as if they cannot lose but Chelsea have been waiting a few years for revenge and it could come on Wednesday night,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
