Charles N’zogbia: You Bet A Good Bit Of Business By Villa

Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Charles N’Zogbia from Wigan and William Hill think he will have a better season than the player he was brought in to replace, Stewart Downing. Hills go 8/11 that N’Zogbia starts more Premier League games than Downing, while Downing is 11/8 to start more than the Frenchman.

Hills also go 4/7 about N’Zogbia scoring more goals than Downing, who is 8/5.

“If reports are to be believed, Villa have made a profit of around £10 million by selling Downing and bringing in N’Zogbia and it appears that the new Clarets wide man may well be utilised more this season than the man that he has replaced,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Hills are offering a number of next club specials on some of the higher profile players being talked about in this summer’s transfer window. Real Madrid are the 4/6 favourites to be the next club to capture Neymar’s signature, while Arsenal are 1/3 to be Juan Mata’s next club. There has been plenty of speculation recently about Carlos Tevez and Hills offer 13/8 that Internazionale are his next club, while Juventus are 7/2.

Fer-nando’s No Chicken When It Comes To Scoring…want Away Players Specials

Andre Villas Boas confirmed that he is unconcerned about the pre-season form of Fernando Torres and William Hill think that his assurances are founded, offering 2/1 that he manages between 16 and 20 goals this season. He is 7/4 to score 21 to 25 goals. Hills also think that Torres has the full support of his manager and he is 9/4 to start 26-30 Premier League games this season.

“It would be fair to say that Torres endured a rocky patch at the start of his Chelsea career, but the odds suggest that Villas Boas will have faith in him and in return, the goals will flow,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Torres Premier League Starts: 10/3 Under 10; 7/1 11-15; 6/1 16-20; 5/2 21-25; 9/4 26-30; 9/2 Over 30

Torres Premier League Goals: 12/1 Under 6;8/1 6-10; 4/1 11-15; 2/1 16-20; 7/4 21-25; 5/1 Over 25

Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now…Want Away Players On The Move?

William Hill are offering a market on whether the all four of the Premier League’s high profile want away players leave their clubs by the end of the Summer transfer window. Hills go 9/2 about all four of Tevez, Nasri, Fabregas and Modric having left their clubs by the 31st August 2011 .

Hills are also offering 6/4 that Cesc Fabregas is the first of the four to go, while Carlos Tevez is 13/8 to do so. It would appear that Arsenal have more hope of keeping Nasri than Fabregas and he is offered at 10/3 to be the first of the four to go, while Modric is 6/1.

“These four players have all shown their desire to move to pastures new and itcertainly looks like a possibility that all four will be gone by the time the transfer window slams shut at the end of August,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Who will go first: 6/4 Fabregas; 13/8 Tevez; 10/3 Nasri; 6/1 Modric

All four to have changed clubs by the end of the transfer window (August 31st 2011): 9/2 yes; 1/8 no

WILL CLICHY BE OVER THE MOON, OR SICK AS A PARROT AT CITY?

WILLIAM HILL make Gael Clichy a 7/4 chance to start 30 or more Premier League games for Man City next season, assuming the transfer from Arsenal goes through before the season starts. ‘It may be a Clichy cliché but we think it could be a case of ‘sick as a parrot’ with 23 or fewer starts, rather than ‘over the moon’ with 30 or more’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Managerial Madness Starts Early…fabregas Latest

The managerial merry-go-round was in overdrive earlier today when Neil Warnock was backed in from 9/2 to 9/4 to be the first Premier League manager to leave at William Hill. The QPR boss was the subject of internet speculation which saw his odds tumble as punters piled in with countless three figure bets although the gamble subsided as a statement was released from the club stating Warnock was going nowhere. Despite the assurances over his short term future, Warnock remains the favourite to go first followed by Steve Kean at 7/2 and Mick McCarthy at 9/1.

“It appears that Warnock is safe for now, but there is seldom smoke without fire and we expect that this is a gamble that would only need the slightest spark to reignite again,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Hills First Premier League Manager To Go: 11/4 Neil Warnock; 7/2 Steve Kean; 9/1 Mick McCarthy; 10/1 Steve Bruce; 10/1 Owen Coyle; 10/1 Roberto Martinez; 10/1 David Moyes; 12/1 Roberto Mancini; 12/1 Sir Alex Ferguson; 14/1 Harry Redknapp; 16/1 Alan Pardew; 20/1 Brendan Rodgers; 20/1 Alex McLeish…others on request

De Gea To Fill Van Der Sar’s Big Boots

In his final season at Old Trafford Edwin Van Der Sar conceded 31 goals in 33 Premier League games and William Hill are offering 1/5 that his replacement, David de Gea concedes 31 or fewer goals in his first 33 Premier League matches. He is 10/3 to concede more.

“Edwin van der Sar has cast a huge shadow over Old Trafford, much like Peter Schmeichel did but the odds suggest that de Gea will fill his boots,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Cesc Fabregas looks all but certain to leave Arsenal, with Hills slashing his odds to go once more from 2/7 to 1/7 while another midfielder seemingly on the move, is Charlie Adam, who is offered at 1/8 to leave Blackpool for Liverpool. He is 8/1 to go to either Aston Villa or Tottenham and 12/1 to join Manchester United.

“If Charlie does not go to Liverpool, we won’t Adam and Eve it!!!”

Michael’s G-owen Nowhere…125/1 For 2011/12 Golden Boot

Following the news that Michael Owen has put pen to paper on a new one year deal at Manchester United, William Hill are offering 7/4 that he scores less than two Premier League goals and 6/4 that he bags four or more. He is 125/1 to get next season’s golden boot and 20/1 to not play a single minute of Premier League football. He is 5/2 to start one or no Premier League games next season, while he is 9/4 to start six or more.

“In one of the more surprising football stories of the last few days, Owen has signed for another year at United, but Fergie obviously has a role for him and it will be interesting to see how he is utilised by United,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Michael Owen is 7/1 to make an appearance for England in a Euro 2012 Qualifier or Finals match.

Owen’s signature may be the clearest indication yet that Dimitar Berbatov will be heading for the exit and William Hill are now offering odds on where the mercurial Bulgarian will be plying his trade on the first game of next season. He is 11/4 to still be at Manchester United and 7/2 to be playing in the Bundesliga. He is 4/1 to be at Newcastle next season and the same price to be playing in Serie A. He is 25/1 to make the short trip to Eastlands to join United’s arch rivals.

2-3 2/1
4-5 11/4
