United Scrape Through…8/1 They Face City In The Final

William Hill were saved paying out a six figure sum by the width of Manchester United’s crossbar tonight. There was a mutual holding of breath by William Hill staff when Richard Brodie hit the bar at the very end of the match at Old Trafford. Manchester United are now the 9/4 clear favourites to win the competition, with Arsenal 3/1 and Manchester City 5/1.

“We were probably the only people in Britain who were not cheering Crawley on. Had they scored, we would have faced a payout of well over £100,000,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Saturday’s FA Cup matches promised the potential for Giant Killing however, the three Premier League teams who were facing lower league opposition made it through to the Quarter Finals. William Hill are offering 10/11 that they are joined by only Premier League clubs in the last eight. Hills are also offering 1/33 that the FA Cup Final is contested between two Premier League sides.

Hills are also offering 13/2 that the FA Cup final is contested by two of the four London sides left in the competition, while 8/1 in available for the final to be contested between the two Manchester sides.

Fa Cup Fifth Round: Another Year Of Premier League Dominance Or Will It Be League One-derful?

With the FA Cup fifth round taking place this weekend, William Hill are offering odds of 2/1 that only Premier League teams are left in the competition for the quarter finals, while odds of 4/7 suggest that League One will be the lowest league represented in the Quarter Finals. Crawley Town are the only non league side left in the competition and Hills are offering 16/1 that the Conference is represented in the next stage of the FA Cup. Hills are also betting on how many Premiership teams will make it through to the FA Cup Quarter Finals and make Six or Seven the 8/15 favourite, while 66/1 is on offer for three or less.

“With so many Premier League sides in action against lower league opposition, we can envisage there being at least one or two upsets,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “There are three League One sides in action against Premiership opposition in this year’s fifth round and the odds suggest that it is here where we will see the biggest upset.”

Following Arsenal’s victory against Barcelona in the Champion’s League, William Hill are offering 150/1 that they win all four of the competitions that they are still involved in. Despite Arsenal and Tottenham’s victories this week, the main talking point of this Champion’s League week was AC Milan’s Gennarro Gattuso’s confrontation with Spurs’ Joe Jordan at the final whistle and UEFA are said to be looking into the incident. Hills are offering 7/2 that he gets a ban of eight or more games and 9/4 that the duration of his ban is three games or fewer.

“Gattuso has taken the sheen off a fantastic week for English football, but odds of 7/2 for an eight or more match ban suggests that UEFA will throw the book at him,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Punters Celebrate 440/1 Premier League Accumulator… England’s World Cup Bid Going Down The Panorama?

Punters Celebrate 440/1 Premier League Accumulator…

William Hill’s ‘Will Both Teams Score’ coupon has proved a staggering success with punters since it was first launched in August 2009. For the first time since the coupon’s inception, Hills have had to pay out on all twenty Premier League teams scoring. Already, from a standing start, the bet regularly takes more money than perennial football favourite – the correct score.

“As the first mainstream bookmaker to offer the bet – and one of the few to offer customers the option of betting on whether individual teams will or will not score, we were optimistic that it would prove popular, but it has exceeded all expectations and is now even out-performing the correct score turnover,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

The bet is not just limited to Premier League fixtures and punters can supplement their selections with games from the top four English divisions as well as SPL and FA Cup ties as well. Despite the fact that Blackburn’s Christopher Samba had a face like thunder when he headed in his consolation goal against Manchester United at the weekend, William Hill punters will have been all smiles as he completed a clean sweep on Saturday. Punters who backed all 20 sides to score will be wanting to kiss Martin Skrtel (although how pleased he will be about it is another matter) who completed the weekend’s scoring by netting at both ends at White Hart Lane!

“This weekend was a real headache for us as the price for all twenty teams to score was over 440/1 but the coupon is proving a real success. Most other bets would have been dead when Blackburn were 7-0 down on Saturday but it still gave our punters something to shout about. We will be hoping for a different outcome this weekend, however, when the price is 555/1 for all 20 to score,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

England’s World Cup Bid Going Down The Panorama?

Panorama are set to broadcast their controversial show on the World Cup bribing scandal tonight despite claims that it could harm England’s bid to host the competition. As it stands Russia are the 4/6 favourites to win the chance to host the 2018 World Cup with England the 9/4 second favourites.

“At the moment England are the second favourites to host the 2018 World Cup but we are fully expecting their odds to change after tonight’s show. Which way they will go is impossible to gauge. Come tomorrow morning, England could either be back in with a shout or out of the running completely,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill World Cup 2018 Bid Odds:

4/6 Russia; 9/4 England; 3/1 Portugal & Spain; 50/1 Belgium & Holland
