All Shook Up Over Handshake Decision

PUNTERS AND BOOKIES ALL SHOOK UP BY BY NO HANDSHAKE DECISION

WILLIAM HILL have voided all bets in their market on whether Anton Ferdinand and John Terry would or would not shake hands in the pre-match handshake before the QPR-Chelsea game. ‘As the official pre-match handshake was cancelled, all bets have been voided as there was no opportunity for the subject of the wager to take place’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hills opened the market at 4/6 that they would shake; 11/10 they would not. It closed at 2/1 they would, 4/11 they would not.

Anton Backed To Snub Terry On Saturday…

BOOKIES FACE BEING SHOOK UP BY HANDSHAKE SHENANIGANS

William Hill have seen a plunge on the odds of Anton Ferdinand snubbing John Terry during the pre match handshakes with the ‘no’ odds backed in from 11/10 to 8/11. “We have seen a number of three figure bets, the majority of which have come from the East End of London and if Mr Ferdinand fails to shake Terry’s hand, we could be all shook up,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Will Anton Ferdinand shake John Terry’s Hand: 8/11 no; 1/1 yes

WILL BELLAMY GIVE BOYHOOD TEAM THE BLUES AT WEMBLEY?

Craig Bellamy has claimed that it will be emotional playing for Liverpool against his boyhood side Cardiff City and William Hill are offering 4/9 that he starts the match at Wembley next month (13/8 he does not). He is 5/4 to bag a goal in the final and 20/1 to see red.

MEGSON COULD GET TROTTERS REVENGE SOONER RATHER THAN LATER!

Gary Megson has reignited his war of words with Bolton Wanderers and William Hill think that he could well get the chance to face up against his former employers sooner rather than later, offering 3/1 that the two teams play each other in the Championship next season. Bolton are 5/6 to be relegated, while Sheffield Wednesday are 11/10 to gain promotion from League 1.

Should the teams face each other next season, Hills are offering 40/1 that Megson receives a red card and is sent to the stands.

“There will be no love lost between Megson and the Bolton fans and he will be sure to be on the receiving end of a bit of stick which could see him lose his rag and be banished to the stands,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Ferdinand 11/10 To Snub Terry Shake

John Terry and Anton Ferdinand come face to face for the first time since their on-pitch altercation and William Hill are offering 11/10 that the England skipper is snubbed during the pre-match handshakes by Ferdinand.

“With first Wayne Bridge and secondly Anton Ferdinand, John Terry is running out of people to shake hands with,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill are offering 6/4 that Lampard has left Chelsea before the start of next season and make PSG the 5/4 favourites to capture the England midfielder with LA Galaxy 15/8 and Real Madrid 8/1.

Another former Chelsea manager hitting the headlines is Jose Mourinho who could be on his way out of the Bernabeu. You Bet Jags Or Lescott Will Start Alongside Terry But Capello To Ring Changes

A largely experimental England side performed well for Fabio Capello, but William Hill think that the changes will be rung when the side steps out for their opener at the European Championships. Hills offer 2/1 that just three of the starting XI vs Sweden start England’s first game in Poland and the Ukraine, with four the same price.

The defence was well marshalled by John Terry and Gary Cahill and Hills offer 13/2 that this pairing start England’s first Euros game although the most likely seems to be John Terry with either Lescott or Jagielka (both 9/4). It would appear that the seemingly unbreakable partnership of Terry and Ferdinand has reached its end, with Hills making them 10/1 to line up side by side for England’s first Euros match.

“Cahill and Terry played well together but we think that Jagielka or Lescott may just get the nod ahead of Cahill to line up next to the captain,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

England have secured two wins in two home friendlies and are due to play Holland at the start of next year and Hills make England slight favourites at 13/10 to win the match, with Holland13/8 and the draw 11/10.

Frank Backed To Start As England Reign Over Spain

England were priced at 7/2 with William Hill to win against the World Champions who were the first odds on team to face the Three Lions at the new Wembley. Frank Lampard scored the winner and stood in for John Terry as captain and Hills are undecided as to whether he will start England’s Euro 2012 campaign offering 5/6 he starts England’s first game and 5/6 that he does not. Darren Bent set up the winner and, in the absence of Rooney is 4/7 to start England’s first match.

Spain remain the 5/2 favourites to win the Euros next summer while England are 11/1 joint fifth favourites.

“We are not going to get too carried away and suddenly make England favourites for the Euros but a result like that could possibly tempt a few more punters to have a go at our 11/1,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Capello will be taking charge of England for the last time in Poland and the Ukraine with Harry Redknapp the favourite to take the reins after him. His odds have drifted from 8/11 to 7/4 but he is still quite away ahead of Martin O’Neill and Arsene Wenger who are the 8/1 second favourites.

Lampard: 5/6 yes; 5/6 no
Terry: 1/6 yes; 7/2 no
